Is the IQ.DRIVE similar to tesla autopilot? Does it have auto-lane change, auto park, and can it be made more autonomous with the ota updates? Hard to find info about this

This is how it is explained on vw.com. I do not believe it will be autopilot like Tesla. More like a safety feature with warnings. Unless, of course, they update the software later on. I haven't heard anything about that either though.

I think there may be more features in the future because I found this article with the manual of the ID.3 and it says it will have auto-lane change and self-parking.

Any news about the OTA? VW absolutely need this feature to be compétitive.
Nobody want to go at the dealer for update!

OTA updates are coming to all of VW's ID vehicles.

OK good, do you think that Continental is ready now?
It appear that they will have an application.
"Its server is now going into production at VW as an in-car application server (ICAS1)"
I don't think autopilot will even be possible they only have 2 computers one for the infotainment and the other for car function if they want autopilot a third computer needs to be added.
VW will their be a option to install the third computer to allow autopilot features in the future. I know their are 2 in the ID4 one for the infotainment and the other for car functions but no third computer for autopilot like the mach E or Tesla.
If this isn't going to be available you may lose hundreds of thousands of future customers. Many are being told that their may be an update giving them autopilot in the future this could be another diesel gate.

No the need a third computer for this to happen and so far only 2 computers are onboard. If they have a place to install a third cpu they could possibly give ID4 customers autopilot. Many of the reps I've gotten test drives from say they will have an update. If they can't add autopilot VW may lose thousands if not hundreds of thousands of customers that bought the ID4 from the reps providing wrong information can you say diesel gate all over again.

Welcome as a new user. Please be advised that you don’t need 3 consecutive posts that essentially say the same thing. No need to stutter.

IQ.drive is based on Mobileye's EyeQ4 processor. All low-level processing is done there. Continental server with Renesas processor then provides the next level object handling. Electrobit's corbos is the operating environment. If you want to know what new is coming those are the terms to google.

Hundreds of thousands? Really? I seriously doubt that.

Thanks for the tips. Here are some useful links for the Google-averse: :p
https://www.renesas.com/us/en/products/automotive-products/automotive-system-chips-socs - ICAS1 is a 64bit ARM cores with cutting edge security features baked in, from what I can tell.
See also Renesas advanced automotive SoC adopted by Continental for its body high-performance computer
EB corbos product line - Elektrobit - Electrobit and their Corbos platform have now been integrated into Cariad, at least to some extent.

Not much because it has to few cameras to do all that. The ID6 might have it. I wouldn't trust them again about anything.
