Dropped the car off for the recalls

My wife dropped off the car at Platinum VW in Hicksville, NY this morning for 93P7 and 97ZZ. They are not ready to test the door handles, but they will do the rear lid hinges. They will also look at the sunshade because it doesn't always do what we ask it to do. They said it will take 3 days, and they gave her a Jetta loaner.

At least it’s not an Atlas :)

Took mine in, got called at noon, needs an OTA module. 3 weeks wait 🙁.
At least it’s drivable.
We are grinding here in Central Florida. Been on the list at one dealer since the recall came out and they won't even speculate when I'll get in or tell me where I am on the list. Called a second dealer today, same issue.

Last time it was a Taos.

Yeah, I got a 2023 Atlas loaner when I had my ID.4 in for the recall. The best thing I can say about it is that it made me appreciate my ID.4 even more than I already did. The Atlas was like driving around a giant bathtub on wheels.

What dealership? Mine is Napleton VW and while they are not terrible, they are just don't have the manpower to handle the recall.
Both VW South and North. Neither seem to be terrible either, South did my 10k service a few months ago. They just only have like 1 tech trained and the service manager did more or less say they've had a lot of problems with the first cars. When I asked it it was related to parts, he said no, parts were available in short order. But he didn't elaborate beyond that.

Lots of folks here though in California and elsewhere that have already been through their recall with the new software, battery, etc. for several weeks now.

LOL (sic) It's pretty sad that we evaluate many VW dealerships against such a low bar of BEV competency. 🤷‍♂️

South was my dealership but I had such a bad experience with them with my tiguan that I decided to move my reservation ID.4 to napleton.

I got an identical loaner to your Taos. It's even the same blue. Sorry to say but it's a really disappointing car. The hesitation when driving in traffic or accelerating from a near-stop is ridiculous. Underpowered and overly noisy. It's got 3K miles on it and should be smooth and pleasant to drive. It's NOT. I can't wait to get my ID.4 back.

I have the same Taos loaner. I found taking it out of ECO mode helped some with the hesitation. In ECO mode it was horrendous to drive.

I drove the Jetta last night and I thought it was an acceptable car for 24k. Not the greatest but not terrible either.
Congrats you're close to getting your car back
Maybe. They said 3 days.

I don't mind if it is longer. My wife has a nice Jetta to use.

Not a promise, just an estimate based on their past experience. Now I’m wondering, do I really need the update? I’ve been happy since March of ‘21, what’s another 2 years? Wondering now, how long do I have to get it done?
When the part arrives, I’m told I’ll get head of the line treatment 😁.
