So far, as the status of my ID.4 order has progressed from ordered to locked to leaving the factory, I have never received any e-mails from VW notifying me of the progress. None from the dealer either. Is this normal? I was under the impression that other folks had received e-mail updates.

My AWD ID4 left the factory on 9/3, and it has been radio silence ever since then. I called the dealer and they were able to confirm that my car arrive in the port of Jacksonville, FL on 10/7, with an estimated delivery date no earlier than 10/18. That delivery estimate is 4 days from today, but my Owner's Portal is still showing it "Leaving the Factory."
Yes I get emails from VW, they were right away after my reservation and then before and right after lock. Nothing of any value since mine locked in June, just some more marketing. How did you know when to pay the $400 to lock with no emails?
I don't remember, but I don't think it was an e-mail. I checked my inbox for March and there's nothing there from VW. Maybe it was on the portal? I hope I'm not missing anything. I did check to see if they have the correct address and they do. Hmmmm?
I am frustrated with the lack of communication. I received an email in March after my $100 deposit. It was basically an invitation to view the Owner Portal and "learn" about owning an ev.
I have not heard from them since. I only knew to lock on June 21 when I by happenstance checked into the portal and saw a notice that I had less than a week left to Lock.
Good thing I had looked or I may be waiting for nothing. I am at level 15-1 and have been there since September 11. My dealership changed ownership at the end of September and are still unable to access computer records regarding orders. So no help from them. They told me on September 21 that VW would be contacting me directly. NO word as of the evening.
