I've only charged a handful of times, but I didn't remember seeing the "Charge speed requested by vehicle" (114 kW) in addition to "Current charge speed" (113 kW) like I saw in last night's session:

4859

Is that new? In any case, it will help with debugging charger issues. This was at the EA station at the outlet mall in Smithfield, NC and it delivered slightly more than the expected charge curve both times that I visited it yesterday. It is a perfect location for EA next to a ton of shopping and a Cracker Barrel off I-95.

My hands were still full of Chipotle burrito when charge rate was max so I didn't get a picture of the 130 kW delivered when the car was requesting 131 kW closer to 19% SOC.

I have never noticed that myself. That doesn't mean it wasn't there. Did you happen to notice the miles per minute on the car charging screen when the charger said 130kW?

Nah--the burrito was trying to come undone and was distracting me. Charging the car was way easier than eating that burrito. 😂

We were getting 3.1 mi/kWh on a hot day of highway travel, so it would have calculated out to 130 * 3.1 / 60 = 6.72 mi/min.

V2G and many other protocols are existing in the charging protocols on the ID4 side...and this is one of the integrations on EA side to show you real information about what ID4 is asking and what EA at the moment is capable to deliver....i was waiting for people to notice this...i will not give you more insights but ...plug and charge is not far away.....
I hope that people who have patience will be happy soon.

The upgrade happened mid June, best I could tell.
Must be rolling out gradually, because I wasn't seeing this version around here in July.

Once we get the happiness of plug & charge, charging will be so easy that I can graduate up to eating Sushi while I wait.

I do babysitting with onboard instruments and don't have time to do anything while charging session is in progress....usually i have to get food before or after. And this revision update is all across the I 80 when first rolled out.
It would be nice for Moderators to send the email to EA to get involved in this forum so questions could be answered from first hand....
Also try to involve interest from more people in VW AG not just E Mobility....
This will only make VW brand better and people will be more happy.
My career is going to change and i will have less and less time for VW forums....i have big project going on at my job so i will have to focus on what they hired me.
There will be great things coming in near future...
Carbon Cooper rotors are just the beginning and running over 21k rpm all they long.
Good luck to all.

Noticed it at 2 locations so far. But not at my local one yet.
This implementation is not only for owners alertness but also for automation of issues EA is facing if there is equipment issues .... and they know there is no on demand energy supply restrictions.
So it is great feature .
There will be in near future people posting about how his/her EV is not asking full power at given SOC.... but before jumping in this direction ...there will be required a lot of information to really answer some questions.....
So when it gets there it will be best to contact service and technician you trust to see in the history back logs and figure out owners experience vs raw data recorded.

I have seen that on some newer EA stations. The older ones just tell you where you are in your charging

There is a BOA near me at the junction of 85 and 101 that has the old, never frigging work consistently ABB units. They are running the new sofware. They still suck, and keep dropping to 32kw
I have never seen it drop to that low. I have seen it sometimes only produce 95 kW. Could the vehicle be detecting to much current so it slows it down so it does not hurt the battery

The $64K question is, when the ABB units drop to 32 kW, what does the upgraded EA display claim that the car is requesting at the moment. The software update helps figure out if there is a car problem vs. handshaking error vs. sucky ABB equipment.
