This site did an in-depth analysis of EV data – drawn from 4,200 connected EVs and 5.2 million trips to make an EV range versus temperature curve. It will be interesting when there is enough ID.4 data to do this same type of graph:

Unfortunately, that link doesn't work as Geotab hasn't updated the app. to include any VAG BEV since the Taycan was introduced.

Thanks for sharing, I think this is a good representation of what would happen with ID4 in cold weather. 🥶 I just did a cold weather drive from Minneapolis-St Paul, MN to Fargo, ND and experienced the worst range I've ever seen. Averaged 2.2 mi/kwh with temps cooling from 4C down to -10C. Driving NW with gusty wind from the North. I was expecting a 25% drop in range, it looks like I had around 33% range drop which matches the chart.

Thanks GTiD4 , you're in my next of the woods , so for me your data at temps give e a good idea what to expect . Yep kind of sucks especially at 50F. I take it you were on Interstae 94 . Your typical speed? 75 ?

You know God made semis for a reason 😄 .. I have no issue riding the draft , especially when I see 3-4 semis doing the same thing with each other

For most of the drive west I had the ACC set to 65mph, only when the finish was in sight (last 20 miles) did I bump up to 70mph. The return trip on Sunday was a bit easier, no wind/light tailwind and temperatures 4-11 degrees C. I averaged 2.9mi/kwh with ACC set at 70mph. I have climate set to 18C, so it's cool but comfortable.

The drive would be less harrowing if there was an EA station or two along the way. Only having 2 50kW fast chargers west of the metro is a little unnerving. I dread the day that I pull up to the ZEF station and it's in use or out of service. I talked to a Bolt owner in Fergus Falls, and he seemed surprised to see that the DC station was functional.
