First Experience With Auto Braking in Reverse

1905 Views 8 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Enzo589
Today, I was backing into a parking spot next to a curb. Watching the camera view, it appeared that I had enough room to swing into the spot without hitting the curb. Well, the car thought differently. While backing slowly it was like I hit something hard!

When I pulled forward and readjusted the angle it backed in just right. I actually appreciate that it stopped me from rubbing the curb. While it was a bit abrupt, I know now what to expect and that gives me assurances.

I find it to auto-brake when I back out too "fast" towards a wall/object. I appreciate that it would do this when a human is passing by, but for things like charging station and parking lots, I've had it scare me from these unexpected brakes. I do think it's a bit sensitive for my preference, but I've learned to reverse slower than I'd usually go.
