Front license plate?

I didnt want to have the dealer drill holes in my front bumper so I zip tied my plate to the grill underneath. No issues and the grill is pretty beefy. I spoke to a VW master mechanic and he said it should be fine and would help protect the radiator behind the grill from stones.
