Hi all.

I'd love a bit more clarity out of my ID.4 which has 1,200 miles.

I was thinking of just swapping the front speakers but no installing new rears or an amp. Has anyone done this or think this is a bad idea?

We do not recommend that you simply replace it like this. The original car speaker is poor in workmanship, and the parameter is only 4Ω 20W, while the brand speaker, like HK, can reach 4Ω 100W, the power increases, and no power amplifier is installed, so it cannot be pushed. Moreover, audio system mainly requires a sense of atmosphere, and it is meaningless to change only parts.

If you want to get good sound effects, you don't want to spend more money. Based on the speaker of the original car, installing a cheap dsp digital amplifier is also better than this.

Check this thread. Some folks have changed only the front speakers and had good results.

If you want to choose to believe, believe it. It's just funny. Without power amplifier and subwoofer, how much do you think he will improve?

Of course, it also depends on how much you are willing to pay and your requirements for hearing enjoyment. Some people also think the low-end speakers of the original car are great

I was disappointed at first with the stock speakers but they got better after they broke in so I'm staying with them. Some people are happy with just a front speaker change. Everyone is different.

I had the optional B&O system in my Audi TTS and there were a number of folks who found that inadequate for them. Yes, everyone is different. ;)
In fairness due to space constraints the B&O didn't have a discrete subwoofer, but I still found the fidelity quite good. And I'm a semper fidelity kinda guy. :)
I too find the stock ID.4 system adequate, but I had no Great Expectations.

I would like to say that the upgrade plan of harman kardon is very competitive at this quotation. Good things have no other disadvantages except expensive prices.

Actual experience shows that the sound improves quite a bit with only the front speaker replacement; see the thread referenced by @Spin a few posts above. The stock speakers are quite terrible, so replacing them with no other mods produces a significant improvement in my personal experience.
