The dealers I called in the area told me that VW only tints back windows in ID.4s and that front windows are not tinted. I live in the US Southeast, so tinting windows is very helpful. I think the dealers charge $299 for front window tinting. What do you guys think?

I was lucky that they already had tinted my front windows when I picked it up and gave it to me without charge. She mentioned that since I mentioned I liked tinted windows when I did a test drive before my delivery, they went ahead and put it on for me. The charge would apply for the next buyer if I declined the vehicle. Maybe you can try to get it thrown in for free?
But I would also do as @JimmyVW said and get it also on the roof glass. I live in Houston and I can still feel the heat of the sun with the visor shut (it is just a thin and very porous cloth). I would have had that done too if I had known.
