Hello all,
Thank you for such a great forum. However, although my FE was available to me yesterday, I decided not to buy the car. I know most people and most reviewers rave about the comfortable ride of the ID.4, we just didn't experience that. Our ride was harsh and very unsettling over even modest bumpy roads. It was only smooth over newly paved roads which is rare in my part of the Bay Area (Oakland and Berkeley). We drove a Kia Niro EV over the same streets and the Kia seemed more "composed" and soaked up the bumpy roads better. Also, my current 11 year old Lexus RX350 did a much better job. I know this is all personal taste but I felt the ID.4 tossed me all over the place as we drove around town. I think some people think of that as sporty but not me.

Finally, I also found the learning curve on the tech a bit too much for my wife and I. We've had a LEAF for a long time and all you do is push a button or turn a knob and your good to go on anything...I guess we are a bit low tech.

I wish you all well on with this beautiful car that just isn't right for us....Thanks all KSC

You might want to try a test drive of the Pro model when the dealers start having them to demo, it will have a smoother ride due to the 19" wheels so the tire has more rubber in the sidewall (compared to the 20" on the FE.) That is well known to cushion the ride, and may make the ID.4 have a ride better than the Kia.

All the best Ken. There will soon be many more EV makes/models to choose from and one of them is bound to better check your boxes.

Audi dealer prep once missed removing the suspension shipping blocks on me as well. As you would expect a very jarring ride until rectified.

I wonder if Ken's ride quality observation wasn't so much an ID.4 thing, but a European car vs Asian car design choice. I don't know if such a blanket generalization exists any longer; maybe that's an old notion that needs to be retired.
