No - the ID.4 glovebox does is not lockable. Other forum members attempted to "educate" me that this is a desirable feature and not a flaw. I remain unconvinced.

My last two cars did not have glove box locks. Maybe this is a trend today!

I can't remember ever locking my glovebox.

Not much point in locking it.

If you have a lockable glove box, and if your car is broken into, then you also need to get the glove box and associated parts repaired.

And why, on an electric vehicle, is there NO LIGHT in the glovebox. It seems like a no brainer, and a sadly omitted useful convenience.

True - if they make it through the doors, a glovebox lock ain't gonna stop 'em either

Heh. In a prior life we owned a couple of '90 Miatas. The wisdom of the day was "everybody has a key for a convertable - a pocket knife." That was fine and we never parked them locked, but for some strange reason my wife decided it was a good idea to lock the console box and the glovebox when she was at work. Not a good idea. I had to replace both latches, and implored her not to do it again, "trunk yes, glovebox, no," since that particular model year they didn't have remote trunk releases.

Glovebox latches were notoriously breakable or bendable. They were not intended to be "secure", and just increased the damage to fix if somebody wanted in. Thieves like that don't care, like the bastards who cause $1K in dashboard damage to get $20 at the pawn shop for your radio.
