I hit a weird situation yesterday. I was driving here in Austin when we had a freak storm that resulted in some flash flooding. I was using Android Auto, and I saw my GPS position in both AA and the built-in navigation get stuck at a location we we'd been parked. At one point, we stopped for a few minutes, and I disconnected the Android phone and it was able to get a good GPS position, but when I restarted Android Auto, it took the position from the car, not the phone. Compass heading was still updating for this whole time, but I didn't get GPS back until after returning home and having the car sleep for a few hours.
Anyone else had something like this happen? I didn't have a chance to try to reboot the entertainment system, so I don't know if that would have cleared things up. I wonder if the thick clouds stopped the car from getting a good GPS fix? I could see this happening, but I'd expect it to recover when the storm lessened.
