Team - planning to retro fit the "diamond front lights" from GTX to "regular" ID.4. Realizing the swap has multiple components:

1) A light module (those are not individual LEDs for each diamond, but one module installed below) the part numbers are 11A941055A and 11A941056A
2) Black cover

Does anyone know, please, what the part numbers are for the black cover left and right?

P.S. Thank you ID.Furkan for making a close-up shot of the GTX...

I've also been curious about this and whether you'll need to add fog light switch and or a harness, or if there's an existing connection point in the harness

Sent from my SM-A705W using Tapatalk
This is not a fog light - it's an extension of DLR (IMHO). So no switch to be added, only a harness extension needs to be made (to connect it up to the upper DLR/light bar). The light has a simple 2 pin connector. Building a "snap-on" harness would be the best approach. Any more pointers the piano black cover highly appreciated.

...seems like the connectors to build the harness are discussed in this thread by @javi_ID4...

Nice! Good options, I considered earlier implementing the "OEM like design" in your second suggestion using these LEDs. But OEM is OEM :) No more hacking until it is absolutely necessary :)

Frankly I like more the first option you Photoshop'ed (similar to what I did on my Jetta...)
Thank you, and thanks for the LED link.

Those LEDs you've in mind should work in either case. The 2nd optional flush mount gives OEM look vs the other 2.

The Hella Micro DE fog light kit will set you back my guestimate of $300-400.
The Hella Micro DE Xenon light kit will set you back my guestimate of $400-600.

This one posted in post #6 sells for a lot less. But they're only for DRLs.

Absolutely - below are most of the parts needed to retrofit the GTX-style DLR lights. What's missing is the harness: connector pins, pins for the bumper interconnect, pins for the tail-light connector and the wire itself. I have (finally) finished the tail-light retrofit last weekend (no errors on the dash), I'll document this retrofit on GitHub once I get to it JohnyForElectric/ID.4: Tweaks, mods and fun (github.com) :) :) :)

@tweederhill - if you find a good way how to remove the front bumper without removing the wheels and wheel liners please let us know. There must be a way to do it :)

This is amazing, Thank you! I'll be sure to let you know if I encounter a more expeditious bumper removal :)
Two others things:
Have you looked into finding the rear logo lamp part numbers that come on the '23 ID.4's? That is something I hope would be an easy install.
Secondly, have you explored how to unlock cascading, dynamic, sweeping turn indicators?

Great stuff! outside of the mechanical (bumper removal) there is one more "unknown" that is the coding itself. Did connect the light per GTX wiring (connects to the headlight), but the coding is needed...I did some more digging into the LED drivers in the headlight to get more clues, but did not have more time to spend on it. If anyone has more clues - please share.

1) Rear logo lamp. I did not look into the OEM part yet, and I agree there is something "missing" in the rear bar. IMHO the 2023 logo is part of the tail-light, and it is connected inside of the tail-light. But I could be wrong. We need to debug this. Anyone willing to remove the rear middle tail-light from 2023 and share a photo, please? (More background: the middle light has "dry" power connectors on the side, each side has water insulation around the connector, it's not using the "wet" connectors as the outer parts. So any additional "wiring" would need to be done extra careful as you'd need to breach this water insulation...)

2) Cascading indicators - this is about coding. I did not make it work yet. I only got half-way having an empty option in the menu, but not cascading indicators... Any pointers on coding will be appreciated :) I'll work over this week on updating my GitHub repo with couple more findings, coding and more detailed wiring on the tail project...

Good luck and looking forward to your findings as you dig deeper!
