I have had my 1st Edition since March and have over 10,000 miles. A few minor issues. Most of them on me as I learn about the car.
My wife has a Tesla Model 3 which came along about the same time as the ID.4 and the OTA updates are a common occurrence without issue.
So my question is has VW's OTA really been implemented for the ID.4?

AFAIK only in the EU, and their update didn’t resolve any significant issues such as charging scheduling. I look for this to possibly be fixed in 2023.

It's still rolling out in the European markets, region by region. The 3rd of 4 planned waves (Greece, Portugal, Romania, others) only kicked off just last week.

VW commented that once distribution in a particular region commenced, it could be weeks before any individual owner in that group might get it. So there's nothing quick or instant about this inaugural OTA.

Since we haven't heard anything in North America, we're running headstrong into the anticipated release of version 3.0. Maybe that'll be our first update, sometime next year?

A little daylight from VW USA would certainly be appreciated, but parroting Neil, 2.3 is mainly a housekeeping release with some stability improvements, nothing life charging. I think if that version lands first here, it's going to generate a collective Meh... and a whole new round of complaints. That's why I'm thinking we'll see 3.0 first.

I can confirm that 2.3 is rolling out here in the UK and there's nothing to rave about and certainly no major changes. I had mine a couple of weeks ago.

At this point I'm just hoping for a dealer installed code update (and new 12V battery?) upon my first annual 'maintenance' service next mid-March, when they also perform all my saved up Recalls/TSB. ;)
I'm 200 mi to my 10k service. I'm expecting it to take < 60 min (all recalls etc). I have one annoying and intermittent issue with my right rear vehicle warning light indicating a vehicle when none exists. I get guard rail and jersey barrier warnings along with real vehicle warnings. I guess that's better than no warnings.

Maybe by next March. I had mine done a month ago. Dealer had no idea when the update or updates would be available. They were told that some new cars being shipped into California are rumored to have the 2.3.

I emailed [email protected] inquiring about the update and heard back from them just a few days ago. They said: "We are working on defining the schedule for rollout next year at this time and what we can confirm is that we will be able to share more information in the coming months. At this stage there a multiple software updates identified for MY2021+ ID.4 next year."

So, sounds like here in the U.S. we won't even know the anticipated schedule for a couple of more months. There are plenty of software companies out there that have been pushing updates out to users for decades now. Perhaps VW should check into hiring someone who has done this before.... ;)

Well said.
Apparently Combez21, although a two-month member, felt he needed to first-post flog this very old broken down horse. 🤷‍♂️
I'll now close this thread as I have a dozen or so other similar floggings. 🤪
Why continue to flog this poor broken down horse? We may get updates someday. We all bought the ID.4 "as is" with mention of possible over the air updates in the "future". Think about the car's performance and quality. Forget the fact the computer this car is built around for now is pretty much a POS.
