So, another week and yet another contact with my dealer and it's getting worse re information: "You can't trust the status in the My VW app and we have no new info re your car i.e. it's still in production. This can mean that it's already made and waiting to be shipped or it's still waiting in line. In other words, we may get it next week or in four weeks, we simply don't know"

:rolleyes::(

Well at least they said one or four weeks.

My app still says 2023W02, which I know is not true (they don't even know if they are producing any GTXs let alone mine).

I do wonder about the US builds, they seem to be ramping up quite well. Granted, no 360' cameras to them.

My interpretation of "one to four weeks" = "we haven't got a clue but we want to cheer you up"

I'll probably discontinue my weekly contact with the dealer since it's more or less pointless and take solace in knowing that the car is indeed "confirmed in factory for production". I've now lowered my expectations to "as long as it's registered before 31 Dec" i.e. before the green tax credit is decreased...

It is with slightly trembling fingers I write this: my 2023 GTX passed final factory QC 15 Oct i.e. is indeed made and is awaiting transport to yours truly! 🥳😀

How do I know this (and this is a tip if you haven’t tried it): as the app is now terminated (and was crap anyway) and my local dealer had little if any information (and wasn’t very emphatic) I contacted the VW head office in Sweden. Must confess I didn’t expect much but got an email after lunch stating the above!

Have I heard anything from mr ”You can be confident we’ll let you know re any progress” sales rep? Of course not.

Hope you others waiting impatiently will get some good news soon - and that the info I got wasn’t a cruel hoax 😬

Edit: got confirmation from the Swedish VW HQ that the car is now in the transport stage 😀

Good for you and congrats. Indeed the app was shutdown but it was useless anyway if something is stuck in same status for monhs its useless if to check on a daily basis. While I am waiting for the id4 I have a rental car Lync&Co and they have a very nice way of communcating, when its time for change to winter tires they show up at home and take the car and fix everything. Also they are replacing my current rental with a newer after a while also at my home. Seems like some companies have something to learn how to treat customers ☺

Nice! Here the rental car company told me if they find a single German “Shedder” hair in their rental car and it will be a $500 “Cleaning Fee.” I sicked my two GS’s on them! 👹👹

Edit-obviously I didn’t really tell them to sick ‘em. 😂

Härligt tjabo! When did you order your car again? I also lost the vw app and on vw finances neither my order or my legal contract is shown, feels a bit... not fun to say the least! Of course i have my legal contract between me and my dealer.

Do you know if you will get the updated 2023 model or is it a 2022 made under "2023 batch"?

Hej Per and everyone else!

Thanks, feels great after all these months of uncertainty and as I said, sincerely hope everyone waiting gets some good (or at least reliable) info soon from VW. If you haven’t done so already - check with the national VW HQ for status.

I ordered the car 5 Feb (this year 😉) but it was already in stage 3 or so as it was supposed to be a dealer demo car; I took over the order and just managed to change various options before it was locked. My contract is also honoured by VW and it includes a Volvo XC60 T5 AWD trade-in car. Benefits: the GTX with my options is ~ € 5500 more expensive now and I’ve been driving the Volvo with petrol cost as my only expense 😀

It’s confirmed to be MY 2023 which is great especially re the all black interior, not a fan of the dark blue…

Ok I see! I ordered mine Sep 2021 so hopefully it's not that far off then. But again a dealer is probably prioritized, like your car and all leasingcars, before ordinary folks.

My speced car have gone up 9000 euro, so thats a comforting win atleast if I ever get the car.

Gaaah! No update from local dealer rep re delivery - as if I expected him to wake up from his daylong nap/extended coffee break. Hope it will be a month after completion of production and QC i.e. mid-november 🤞🏻

Anyone else heard anything re production etc?

Nope. I emailed VW sweden 7 days ago and have not gotten a reply yet. Their customerservice is despicable.

The gtx was launched summer 2021, I ordered in September. Sence then my dealer has not contacted me on their own initiative more than once. You always have to hunt them, nag, drag information out of them. You email customerservice which refers to your dealer who wont reply.

Why be a carcompany that isn't interested in selling you a car...

Got a reply from vw now. "We at customerservice cannot see your deliverydate, it's your dealer that have the tools for that. Contact my dealer; "your car is on a priolist but we cannot give any deliverydate"

Same old same old 👍...

Honestly I have dropped it now its so little activity so the car should arrive in theory in a few months. But Its useless to chase this week in and week out.
Why do you expect it arrive in two months?

GTX production was halted in September. Only cars already in production will be completed this year. Restart of production is "sometime 2023".

So unless yours was in production a month ago, it's not coming this year, sadly.
