Wondering if anyone that has ordered a GTX has gotten any estimated delivery dates?
My order has had the status "ordered" ever since I put down the order back in May.

Nice.

Grab a shot of the interior, use the wide-angle on your phone if you have it (the smallest amount of zoom if your phone has multiple steps for that), please.

Will do - when it gets dark ;)
Caveat: have a measly iPhone 8

No worries. That seems to have just one lens, so best you can do is - if it's an option - adjust the zoom to as little as possible. So fit as much of the inside to the image as you can.

I'm just interested in the interior IRL image, and not VW:s official promo, so don't stress about IQ.

Kind of hard to find an example inside a car, but here's an example of wide-angle vs. normal lens. The picture is taken from the exact same spot, just different lens. I do believe some iPhones have wide/normal/telefoto -lenses. My OnePlus has, although that's just what it came with.

Wide-angles are used when taking pics of indoors when selling a house etc, because you can fit a lot into the image (meaning you can actually fit a whole room into an image) and they also make the rooms look more spacious.

I can also guarantee you that this image of the GTX interior is taken with a wide-angle. That, or the side doors are way bigger than the windshield. I don't think that the ID.4/5 have doors over 2 meters wide.. And the pic is taken to the front of the seats, yet the distance to the steering wheel is how much? ;) Way to make the car bigger, but at least we see the whole interior...

Are you satisfied with audio? Subwoofer is included now?
Subwoofer included and it's still early days but sound is just fine - after some EQ adjustments. High-quality sources/recordings shine IMHO. I use both streaming e.g. Spotify and max-quality mp.3 files on a USB stick and the latter is of course better.

What range does it say, its the new battery right?

There's no "new" battery in ID cars. Only the 12V battery is new, but that doesn't affect range?
Re range: I’ve not charged to 100% yet (and not even to the recommended 80%) but I’ll have a look later. Could be slightly different with the 19’ winter tyres.

Must mention the torque and acceleration at traffic lights from 0 to ~ 80 km/h with the Sport Mode: 🚀😀! Wife was more 😱😆

Mini-review after 6 days and ~ 500 km:

First off, I’m very happy with the car. The wait was long, just over 9 months (and that’s relatively short compared to what I read in various forums), but worth the wait. I’ve tested Teslas but abandoned that option for several reasons and also had a look at Hyundai, Kia, Ford, Nissan and some others but concluded that a FWD ID.4 would be the best choice for us.

Pros and cons IMHO:

Pros
  • Seems to be high quality build, ”Mercedes feel”
  • Comfortable and fun to drive
  • Both Comfort and Sport mode has a lot of torque and acceleration
  • Overall well-thought of features and function
  • Looking good both outside and inside IRL, MY2023 black interior looks so much better than that strange blue dashboard etc.
  • Opening powered boot door with a foot very responsive and quiet
  • Upgraded sound system incl subwoofer sounds fine (after EQ and sound field adjustment)
Cons
  • Glossy black plastic details inside are dust and dirt magnets. Would be better and look nicer with e.g. brushed aluminium.
  • Blinker sound can wake up the dead. Think horse on cobbled stones and too loud.
  • Keyless opening of doors via touch quite unresponsive many times
  • Printed manual very thin and the 414 pages (!) digital manual would be nice to get as reference considering the many options and advanced features not obvious.
  • Front armrests could be wider for better comfort.
May update the review after some more km and experience.

Lastly for everyone waiting - you’re in for a treat once you get your GTX :)

Good to hear! I'm thinking about getting a obd11 dongle and inactivate the alarm and keyless entry. The alarm for not accidently waking up the family in the morning, and keyless entry for safety reason. Maby something you should try as well?

Supposably you can inactivate the "welcome screen" that takes forever during my testdrive, and also the seatsensor so that you can leave the car on, during dark winterdays its nice when youre strapping the kids in their seat.

I believe Chris said you can program it down to 1 second from the default, but not completely remove it.

Yes, i have seen that episode. 0,5sec was his choice and there is a inactive option. But i have not tried myself, yet.

Huh, I thought he said it's not possible to completely remove it. Oh well.
Hi any one asked delivery update recently. My is Jan/Feb 2023 for order in dec 2021. This info is 1,5m old though and will check again before christmas. Jan/Feb is not far away, just hopes its time enough for them to get their shit together 🤣

As stated above, GTX production has been halted in September (unless your car was already confirmed into production, in which case you'd have it already) and VW has no idea when they can re-start.

As it's about a month from confirmed to actual production, week to produce and a few weeks to ship, for yours to be delivered January they'd need to put it in pre-production basically first of January. Which is not happening, sadly, because they still don't know when they can even start.

Also, my ID.5 GTX production has been guestimated to be delayed by five additional weeks since October. So that would move yours by five weeks to Feb/Mar, which is still optimistic.

Yeah, it absolutely sucks.
As you know I got mine last Thursday but I truly share your frustration and sincerely hope you get some positive and surprising good news soon 🤞🏻😐

Stoped asking because dealers dont know s**t. I ordered september 2021 and have been given jan/feb 2023 when I asked late september. Taking that with a truckload of salt.

Im really grinding my teeth about this because VW and my dealer never get back at their customers. Whats the problem, why the delay and the cloak and daggers?!
