For reference, I placed an order for a UK ID.4 GTX (not Max) early April 2022, first build estimate was 2023 week 05, the update a month later to 2023 week 10 and then a couple of days ago (6 weeks from the previous update) pushed back again to 2023 week 18.

So from my experience, the estimated build date is continually going backwards by the interval of the updates indicating no ID.4 GTX (not Max) models are exiting the assembly plant...........

They are not producing any GTXs this year.
I think this depends on which market you are in and options on ordered GTX. For Sweden they are definitely producing GTXs, mine was just handed over to shipping after final QC check. So im still hoping for delivery before the new year.
A white GTX with assistance pack, sports seats, and tow hook. So no 360cam, electric tailgate, large 12inch screen or HUD. The car was ordered in Nov of 2021, and will now be delivered as a 2023 model.

I wasn't speculating. I have the letter from VW that they sent last week of September that says they have to halt production and only cars already confirmed for production will be produced this year.
Oh ok, then that makes sense, I can certainly see that they are not locking in any new build weeks for GTXs, i had build week of 44 and it seems that the 4 week "build" time that i have seen floating around before handed over to shipping seems to be correct.

Ok so if they halted the production for GTX this year except for those confirmed then, one wonder how many cars this is affecting meaning cars that were supposed to be confirmed this year but was push back due to this decision. Most of us are basically blind to the current status of the cars journey from order to delivery other than asking the dealer, that in my case only give some indication on expected delivery time. But when you read around in the forum some almost know the exact phase of car production like they worked in the factory, port and dealer themselves :)

A car is confirmed for production about a month earlier. The projected timeline shows as much in the VW system. In "normal" times, you could actually trust that once confirmed, the timeline will hold.

I do wonder about the halted production. It was official by our local VW and Tjabo has seen it. The letter stated that they don't have "components for the AWD drivetrain". I've also seen very few GTXs arriving, with 20x the number stating that their expected manufacture has been delayed. But, a few cars - like Tjabo's - have arrived.

To note, the actual build time is only four days, if everything goes smoothly and all parts are available. I've seen that in the system (screenshot) and I do believe that our US friends have confirmed it as well.

The about four weeks is what the projection showed for my car from entering manufacture to arrive at destination port (as per a screenshot sent to me by my dealer). I do believe that is just a standard guess by VW, because they can't know to which ship a car will be loaded into 6 months in advance, probably.

Today my deal told me wthe week changed from 202313 to 202311. He also said that the weeks as constantly moving forward and backwards. And it will continue to move until it's in production. We'll just have to wait and see I guess.

Yepp and as long they move we will continue to speculate and wonder what is going on 😅I will ask my dealer next week or so of status, I guess I have waited a long time to ask again like a child with a advent calender hoping that it will be the right day to check and a nice suprise will come 🤩

Yes, it does, which I why I am making the educated guess that it's just whatever they produced in a week or two (it seems to update either once a week or once every two weeks, usually Sun/Mon night) and then project that to whatever is "in cue".

Like they had their record production week two weeks ago? My ID.5 GTX got bumbed to a few weeks earlier.

Edit: what did I say? Almost midnight in Germany, and sometime during the past three hours, I got bumbed to W05 from W04.

This. Once it's confirmed to production - a month before it's actually produced - then in a regular world it would hold. Now, it still holds and it's done in four days if they have the parts. If something is missing - like Tjabo seemed to have - then it will take longer.

There was another user who's half-built car stood waiting on something for months.

Checking on three of the MY 2023 built GTXs that has showed up on car.info built for Sweden, seems like they are now being produced in Emden... maybe that could also explain the delays/low volume in produced GTX numbers ? 🤷‍♂️

Hi Lars, where do get this info, do you have a link for this tracking?
I just checked VIN on wayke.se on cars available for sale. for exampe.
BEE38P | Volkswagen ID.4 GTX | 220 KW 77kwh Top Sport Dragkrok hos Wayke

is listed on car.info with VIN : WVGZZZE2ZPE005521
BEE38P - Volkswagen ID.4 GTX, 299hp, 2023 (car.info)

And according to the VW VIN reference chart here
VW VIN Codes the 11th Character is the Plant and E=Emden P=Mosel/Zwickau

And this 2023 Pro Performance has Vin WVGZZZE2ZPP000146
WJA020 | Volkswagen ID.4 Pro Performance | 204hk Omgående Leverans | Wayke
So that indicates that it was made in Mosel.

Ok and with this information you try to extrapolate when then they were produced, but its not possible to se when ordered ? :)
Well i was just curious as i thought the GTX was made in Mosel togehter with the other Id4s. And when i saw that the ones for Sweden and 2023 seemed to have moved to Emden my guess was that it might have introduced further delays or limited production capability. Or maybe its all unrelated and its all internal politics on which market the produced GTXs are going to...🤷‍♂️

But for me its better as its closer to the boat and my car should be headed here soon.
