Has anyone received a GTX delivery date?

Wondering if anyone that has ordered a GTX has gotten any estimated delivery dates?
My order has had the status "ordered" ever since I put down the order back in May.

Not hoping, really.

For tax reasons, it's actually slightly more beneficial the later it arrives, and 3 weeks more is nothing.

I am also assuming Germany has long holidays, which their crystal ball may or may not factor in.

Week 8 production would presumably mean something like week 12 delivery. That's fine, as long as it's before summer (June), I really don't mind. And that only because I do want to be able to drive any and all trips over the summer with that.
Also my order postponed by 2 weeks from wk4 to wk6!!!

Of course it did. They started locking W04 production. If they didn't postpone yours - and mine - they'd actually lock them. After that, they'd actually need to manufacture them too. Can't have that. Ruins all the fun. Better to postpone to be able to keep people hanging.
Have followed this forum regularly the last half year. Ordered a ID4 GTX in March. Today my sales contact said that it has gone into production. Asked about the goodwill that is shown on My volkswagen but he did not know about this at all.

What level of equipment?
Thats good progress, march order and production now. Leasing or not should not make any difference? My car clean as well, but have the "electric towbar/dragkrok" and leasing :)

Depends on the accessories and gear.

Last spring they were out of electric trunk doors (not ev specific part) and a lot of stuff. By fall it was at least 360' cameras, matrix lights and powered seats. Again, not specific to EVs.

Who knows what they are waiting on now. I could pick up a bare-bones ID.5 in a week should I want to. I know a dealer who has several right now.

Welp, now it's earlier, W06. Which should be confirmed W01 or W02.

The mfers need to build it soon, unless they realize the situation and push it back again.

There must be som relief in the production constraints now. Manny ID4 on the streets and some new at various resellers also used cars but the pricing is quite tough
I ordered mine on september 20th, 2021. I will get it on januar 10th, 2023. Full optional with black 21" rims.

GTX's AWD was and might still continue to be an issue.

Like I said, my local VW has 10+ bare-bones ID.5:s on the lot, ready for delivery in a week (need to be inspected and registered before delivery).

A few weeks ago local VW said that GTXs are 8-10 months, while RWD would be 4-6.

Love the rims, but I can't justify the loss of range and comfort. It's not like I'm going to spend time outside the car admiring it.

Also trying to add those would have meant 'opening' the order, which would "possibly" led to the price being redone. As the price of the car itself has gone up more than 4.000 eur since I ordered, those could possibly have become stupidly expensive rims. 😬

There's going to be a nagging sound in my brain about those, though, when I get mine, maybe in March...

I don't think that range will be affected that much: total size is the same and total weight almost. I drove the GTX both with 20" and 21" and it's hard to tell the difference on the confort side too.
Fingers crossed all you people waiting will get your cars soon!

This is OT but wanted to update my mini review after some 1500 km, 6 weeks and driving under various conditions:

  • Very comfortable and fun to drive
  • Heating fast and effective
  • Performs well in snow, on motorway, rough roads etc.
  • Software 3.2 has quite a few bugs/glitches and some really odd ones e.g. "Hello ID" starts at random and when I once asked to turn off seat heating it closed down the AC completely :/
  • Upgraded sound system a delight to listen to
  • No background lights for volume and temp is indeed strange but one gets used to it
  • Would like a "close trunk door and lock car" button (as I had with my previous Volvo XC60)
  • The manual, 414 pages long, would be nice to have in pdf
  • Standard seats just fine - and I have a quite bad back

As the US has separate models which have different rims, 19" vs 20" is a minimal 12 miles or about 20km difference. I could swear I saw numbers for 20" vs 21" somewhere, but 2 minutes in Google didn't result in finding it. But regardless it has to be minimal.

Didn't have a chance to test myself. But to repeat myself, the black rims are gorgeous and had it been an option to change only that, maybe I'd done it... But it would have possibly meant re-pricing the whole car, at which point it would have been about 1.200 per wheel, so no.

I'm just happy I am not getting the Turanza Eco -wheels. I've seen way too many comments about them being more noisy than winter tires, and most importantly, sooo many flat tires. Even my dealer didn't need me to get any further than A question about the summer tires.." before telling me I'm getting Pirelli Scorpion on mine (if I recall correctly).
