I wouldn't dare to wish.

I got a screenshot from my dealer. Same preliminary W06. But the funny thing is that according to that view, it should have been confirmed 24.12. Latest update to the system was 29.12.

My dealer flatout said that it's likely delayed (again), as W06 production should have been confirmed and missing that, it's not going to be produced W06.
My Dealer said that for week06 pioduction the confirmation (locked) will be at the end of current week.
We see at Friday, we can not do anything else.

I do hope you are correct. The level of detail I have in the screengrab (for the timeline) is:

  • Date of agreement
  • Date of order (this is separate, as the shop can order a car and then customize it for a customer, as they did with me)
  • Confirmation of production week (estimated until actually done)
  • Production of chassis (two separate status')
  • Production of car
  • Production finished

This is followed by four status' for delivery to my country. Also there is obviously things like VIN, which plant it's manufactured in, etc.

Now, the issue here is that the estimate for confirmation of production week is 24.12. Yet the latest update is marked as 29.12. So they should have either confirmed and it should show up on the update, or, they should have updated the estimated confirmation to be later. You can't estimate something to happen a week ago. It either happened or it didn't. I am assuming VW does know what they themselves did.

As the date when it was supposed to be confirmed for production was over two weeks ago and there has been an update after that, now two separate reps have told me that it seems that it will be delayed.

I am obviously hoping their assessment is not correct and that my car will be manufactured week 06, but that's quite a lot of information pointing the other way. I guess the one thing running for it is the fact that with maybe two exceptions, the updates have appeared in the system over the weekend on Sun-Mon night. But, the 29th was a Thursday, so an update late Thursday night (they always update during the night) would actually mean that the dealer - such as yours - would have fresh info on Friday. So it would align with the previous update.

Well, it's only two days and then we'll know, so the above is going to be irrelevant quite soon anyway. Just speculating.

Did you guys ordered the black rims or could that be the "special goodwill"?
I don't have the "special goodwill" (the local VW has not even heard about it), but I can't believe that it would be the black rims, unless they actually offer it to the customer. Getting the 21" black rims would actually mean you're not getting the silver rims and might even have your 20" replaced with 21".

Some people might prefer silver over black, and I know I wanted 20" and not 21" for the minor impact in range and expected change in comfort. So changing rims might actually not be perceived as a good thing by everyone. If it's the rims, they'd probably reach out and offer.

I mean it would be like putting a panorama roof to all cars. Sure, it's pricey, but there has to be people who actually wouldn't want it for whatever reason. Whatever it is, it has to be something that is merely added and does not replace anything, and also can be removed / not used.

I would assume that it's something like mats, trunk floor cover, first aid kit or other extra accessories you can either use or not, depending on your preference.

Hi Guys,

I came here because this is the only place on the whole Internet (for now) where the "VE: special goodwill 2023 I" is mentioned and discussed.
I just want to tell you that this option is probably not related to the vehicle because I've been waiting more than a year for a Tiguan 2.0 TDI, and the option just showed up in my inventory (maybe around the time when my order became a year old).

Of course, the VW dealers do not know what this is.

Hope that this mystery will reveal soon :)

Best wishes,
Atanas
