Anyone here dealt with Heatshield for sunshades. I felt like I got punk'd by them. Their website shows they got all the windows available for ID.4 including the top window. When I received them; none of them fit. The fit shows they did not even care to measure the windows. Did anyone experience the same? I am asking HeatShield for a full refund because this is not right and what a waste of time. I am sure they will not take down their compatibility for ID.4 so I want to use this forum to spread the word.

Maybe.... just maybe. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and try to communicate with them further to see if it was a wrong kit. I do see the yellow sticker clearly stated it was for 2021 ID.4.

I just bought one of these for my ID.4 for only $7. It actually goes on the outside of the windshield and seems to keep the car cooler than the ones on the inside. Its cloth, so it folds up very compact. This particular size fitted the ID.4 perfectly. Apparently, it also works to keep snow/ice off the windshield, but I likely won't be testing that in Florida.

I‘ve purchased windshield shields from them before, so bought one for the ID and it fit perfectly. However, when I ordered the side windows, the fit was terrible, and the suction cup fasteners are a bad joke. I wrote to them several times for a refund before I got someone to agree to send a return label. All that took over a month. I’m hoping they’ll refund my purchase price, tax, shipping.

Never again. There’s no excuse for sending out products that don’t fit, they even advertise that these are custom made to measure for each vehicle.

I bought the windshield cover from them for my ID4 and although it was arguably a "perfect" fit, the material is weirdly rigid and hard to maneuver. It might have been better for them to undersize it by an inch or so. It's such a pain to roll up, I'm not certain I would ever buy from the again. If Covercraft end ups making a windshield cover for the ID4 I will likely try that since they seem to be designed to collapse easily.

I only chose them because I read many online reviews praising them as being fantastic, but from a maneuverability perspective they are difficult to use in my opinion.

Yeah the thickness is annoying. After I rolled it tightly several times and got creases in it, it now rolls somewhat easily and the fit is good. I roll it from 'in place' above the dash, rather than trying to remove it from the dashboard area before rolling.

The other thing is, it's annoying to maneuver into place above the id light bar, but that would go for any sun shade I think.

I am out around 90 dollars for three useless sunshades. It is going to a battle to get a refund for sure. Worst case, I will lit up their social media account and file a consumer complaint.

In the meantime I guess i will make my own from previous recommendation.

have they refused to refund?
They actually got back to me this morning. I requested a return on all three sunshades due to not fit the car. They provided a UPS return label for me to print and send it back. The process is not over until I get the money back into my bank. So far everything is going well.

So you are asking for refund vs getting a correctly fitted shade? It is very nice shades, esp if you get for all windows... makes it nice and dark that you can sleep in your car during daylight on road trips.

I asked for a refund on my side shades, because they don’t have correctly fitting shades. I asked them why they don’t just go to a VW dealer and measure the windows.

@p7wang Yeah i just ask for a full refund because I think their business is a little sloppy IMO. According to other members, the front windshield fit perfectly. Why continue to offer others windows when people are returning them.

Great find! The strange thing is if you specify VV ID.4, it comes back saying not compatible??? lol
