Hello to everyone. Just joined.

I’m guess I joined the party late. Ordered an AWD Statement on mon this week. Hope I‘m not too late to get a car next year. I filled out the spreadsheet.

I’d been looking at a model Y for a while but the price, lack of CarPlay, satellite radio and aesthetics didn’t quite wow me enough and the price is too high. I never considered the id.4 and just discovered the announcement and preorder this week and immediately put my deposit down. What a cool car!

Local friends - which dealership are you using? my order is via VW kirkland. I saw a thread on dealer fees and how dealers should play nice and not charge any so wondering. I’ve never bought a VW locally before.

I’ve never bought locally here before either. My dealer is Campbell VW of Edmonds. I haven’t asked about any fees or markups and don’t think it’s going to be a problem. VW needs and wants this to go well.

I'm taking delivery from Kirkland as well. There seems to be as many as 50 or more reservation holders there.

James Park ([email protected]) is the EV specialist there. So far, just a brief, introductory email sent out to reservation holders.

The service department at Kirkland has been fantastic.

Thanks for the info - that makes me feel better. Makes sense they have a lot of orders given the proximity to tech companies

Haven’t received an email yet but my car is slated for Q2 of 21 so theres time :)

I’m glad to see others ordering their ID.4 from Kirkland and to hear positive feedback on their service.

For us WA purchasers (I’m in for a Pro AWD) have you looked into the State’s sales/use tax exemption for EV’s? Says that new vehicle must be sold or valued at $45k or less to be eligible. Base AWD should come in just below but certainly causes me to carefully evaluate any add-on options. Other trims may exceed the $45k. Also, the maximum “exempted” amount of the sales price decreases from $25k to $20k starting August 1, 2021. Wishful thinking is that mine will be delivered before then. I also believe the exemption only applies to the 6.5% State sales tax, not the additional 3+% from local jurisdictions. Am I reading/interpreting things correctly?

Yes aware of that and it does make me feel bad that I’d miss it by around 3k. But the base model just doesn’t have the stuff I’d want in my next car and for me not worth giving up, and since we get the bigger federal credit think of it as a happy medium. I agree though, that it makes a big difference

wherabouts are you and which dealer did you choose?

The state portion of the sales tax is 6.8% - $1,700.

I'm in Port Townsend and going with Haselwood VW in Bremerton, although may change if they aren't selling many.

Just had a 60amp service and 48amp EVSE installed (labor and parts tax exempt in WA) to get the Federal tax credit. Now just need something to charge with it.
