There are reports here that one can bring the car to a full stop before the autohold triggers and even stop it without triggering.

I do this regularly on my 2021 AWD. I can stop, resume travel, switch to reverse without triggering it.

The main “issue’’ with auto hold, like many others, is the human factor. Of course it could be better tuned but even then drivers with a lead foot are going to trigger it earlier than others who can feather their brakes.
