ID.4 1st Trailer Hitch Wiring Harness Removal

I ordered the 7 pin trailer wiring adapter but can’t get the original plate off that needs to be replaced to put the adapter on. Anyone do this yet? I saw a YouTube video of someone doing it on an Atlas and it looks the same except the ID.4’s faces directly down and the Atlas faces the rear of the car. There is a cylinder attached to the plate and it has a red button on it that you are supposed to push down to get the plate off. The red button won’t budge. Any advice before I take it to the dealer?

trailer connection

do the ID.4 FE/AWD versions destined for the USA have a 13-pin Euro style trailer connection? why wouldn't the US versions have a standard 7-pin/4-pin connector to use with both trailers that have brakes and those that don't (like U-haul trailers)? not seeing any 13-pin to US 7-pin adapters...

Trailer light parts

I got my trailer light parts and if I can pry the car away from my wife this weekend I will do the install and note any problems or issues. Thank you NeilBlanchard for the research and part numbers.

Is that you do not have torx drive bits to remove the bolts? or you've got the torx bolts out & cannot remove the plate?
