Hi everybody. Does anybody find the door sensor for KESSY a little picky? Every once in a while, mostly when wet, i cannot lock the doors from the door handle via KESSY. it just does not respond. I find that i need to be exactly on the designated spot on a dry door for it to work properly. Winter is slushy and makes that system a little unreliable. Any clues?

I always find it easier to lock passenger door. Driver’s is very difficult for me to lock. Both my Prius cars were much better

Yes. It likes fat fingers better than skinny ones… so lay your thumb compl across the little indent and it seems to work reliably

I've noticed that it sometimes gets finicky when wet. I normally have the key inside my jacket and sometimes when it doesn't respond, I lean myself a little towards the door handle so that the key is closer, and then it locks. It's been less than two weeks since I got my ID.4 and still figuring out things. This is my first car with KESSY and I don't really have any other data points to compare.

I’ve seen water interference with my Golf and our old Subaru Outback… the sensors are capacitive and while they’re not as precise as a touch screen they use similar technology. If you wash the car with the keys in your pocket, your wet sponge will lock the doors. Sometimes a stream from the hose does it by itself.

my driver side started acting up in the past couple days.

May or may not be related, however when my e-Golf starts doing this, it usually follows a short time later that the battery for the keyfob starts to run out of juice & I get the "cannot detect key" message in the car. i.e. the door is a first sign indicator that my keyfob needs a battery, as in a few weeks my car will not detect the keyfob.

Haven't seen that for my ID4, however I did need to replace the battery this past summer for one of my ID4 keyfobs.

I live in rainy Washington and I have this problem a lot. It has gotten worse since we are in the rainy season, so I am tend to just use the fob and not even try. I probably look stupid standing there pressing the door handle every which way.

A fellow Washington ID.4 owner here and I feel you. I started wiping the triangular area with one finger to clear the water and then hold the triangular area again with another finger to lock the car.
