Hello,

I own a id4 since june 21 and i canot charge it using a 220v wallplug. I went to the vw service partner and they said it's a problem with no solving for now and they will keep me updated. Does anybody has the same problem around here?

Presumably you've been able to charge at home/work/elsewhere at 220V since June 21st (4 months) and only recently cannot? Or you've never been able to do so @220V, and if so how then have you been charging?

Would appreciate more details on your typical charging infrastructure, prior practices and current fault situation.

Thanks for asking. First time i ve tried it did not work. Just one time it worked (charged from 30% to 80%) and since then didn't work

Again, how have you otherwise been charging it for the past four months?

Would still appreciate more details on your typical charging infrastructure, prior practices and current fault situation. Difficult to comment further without this insight.

Have you tried multiple EVSEs/chargers? Find a public level 2 station nearby and see if that works, then you can determine if the problem is your EVSE or the ID.4.

Does the included 120v (or whatever the line voltage is in... what's that flag, Romania?) EVSE work?

Also, if you've set any home locations or charging schedules, delete them, those features are buggy at this time.

Type 2 works (actualy this is my usual charging station at my office). Evse is functional, they've tested it @ the service partner. We have 220v in Ro and the evse is supposed to work with that.

Thanks!

So as i now understand your situation 220v L2 charging works for you at your office but not elsewhere, including at your home? What EVSE brand are you using at home and how is it wired, etc?

i recognize we may have a language barrier to an extent in this thread, but you’re really not giving us complete insight, so again difficult to advise.

I don't use level 2 220v, but level 2 380v. I will post a picture with the charger in my office. The EVSE that I am using is the original one provided by VW. I just plug it in 220v wall-plug and it does not work. It's not that I am doing something wrong. As I was telling before, the fault was confirmed by VW service. Thank you!

Ahhhhh ….. OK, appears to be a bad 220V L1 charger provided with vehicle. VW should provide you a new one under warranty. Demand same.

380v? Isn't this DC fast charging and not level 2? What is the maximum rate of charge at your office charger?

I have had the opposite, didn't charge using CCS, and it ended up being a charging socket that had to get swapped out. It appears your is the exact opposite, so perhaps your dealer should do some troubleshooting and order the parts. In my case, the tech had to do logging while plugged in and provide the logs to VW Engineering who then determined the charging socket was the issue.

Well, as we know the "charger" itself is within the vehicle and the EVSE is simply a conduit for the power. So it's entirely possible that the charger does work at your office 380V but not home 220V. Hopefully they get your vehicle's charger flaw figured out and repaired/replaced soon. At least you can still charge at your office 380V if you need to wait for parts.
No, they've tested the charger within the service and said that it's working fine and it is the car that does not work properly
