I am in the UK.
Finding that when I select maximum cooling the air gets cooler but not enough to cool down the car.
Can anybody with an ID4 confirm to me that the air exiting the vents is COLD.
I have ordered an air temperature thermometer so that I can measure the air temperature coming out of the vents.
If mine is working as it should then it has no chance of cooling the car in hot climates.
If anybody has a thermometer I would appreciate it if you could put it on Max cooling and tell me what temperature the vent air gets down to.
I have written to VW but still awaiting their reply. Car is in comfort mode so no restriction on cooling.
I don't think it effects cooling, but I do have a heat pump fitted on it.

Cools mine on 95 degree days here in Florida. I know it’s going to get hotter soon, but it seems to cool well. After driving for a mile or two I find myself raising the temp a bit so I don’t freeze (and I am from New York originally and like it cold)….

The difference is that we aren’t using a heat pump. I had heard that some ID3 drivers in Europe were having issues with the heat pump.
Yes, do pay attention to that. All US owners will tell you that our air conditioning works just fine. Your result might be very different if your heating/cooling system is fundamentally different.

All vents are open. The air is blowing out, it's just not COLD. Getting a thermometer delivered today so I will check the actual cooling air temperature.

... and don't make my rookie mistake of not first checking to see if dealer prep opened the vents (which they didn't!). 😣

The weather was cold when acquired the Ides of March so didn't notice until a warm day in latter May.

Looks like VW bungled the effectiveness of the heat pump as well and is now giving refunds to owners! It's kind of hilarious with all the glitches with the vehicles that the heat pump is also not giving the range improvement that was claimed. Sigh, what a mess. Source

Seems all the outrage about not including the heat pump in the US was for naught. Now, if VW develops a heat pump that works properly...then we can grab our pitch forks again.

Seems so. It's disappointing to see how mismanaged the software development has been for the infotainment system and apparently powertrain components as well. The response I got last year from VW e-mobility stating that features were removed from the US model because they were not mature now makes a lot more sense, as unfortunate as it is.

Yea, it does seem to have its fair share of first model bugs to work out. Hopefully OTA updates start sorting most of them out soon. I've only had my car for about a week, but so far I am loving it and have been able to easily work around almost all the glitches successfully. I thank this forum for alerting me to the possibility of most of these glitches/bugs so that I know what to do quickly after encountering them.

For other VW models, there are two different factory settings for the A/C. One for hot climate countries and one for cooler climate countries. Perhaps there is such a setting for these heat pumps as well?

Are you in eco mode? If so, swap to comfort mode. Eco mode limits the power of the airco
I am using comfort mode. All vents are open. I experimented by feeling the air temp coming out of the vents at Maximum cooling (LO) and then turned off the Air con from the screen.
The air temperature did not change in the slightest. I can only conclude that the Air con system is not working at all.
I checked to make sure the 7.5A fuse for the air con system was not blown and it was OK.
I have contacted my dealer to arrange a visit for them to sort it out.

I think @ID.Furkan actually had the same issue. Dealer fixed it for him.

I looked at @ID.Furkan video and my problem is slightly different. He could not get the A/C button to stay on whereas my button switches on and off as it should. I just changes nothing.
He also never says what the dealer did.
Thanks anyway.

Can always give him a ping on his Discord channel: Join the EV Club by ID.Furkan Discord Server!
he's usually really fast to respond there, and he'll likely be happy to explain what the fix for him was.
But agreed, yours seem different. regardless this is something that the dealer should fix under warranty.
It can be so many things, with a refrigerant leak as a likely option for me.
