Like many of the members on this forum we've experienced the center infotainment system going out continuously, either while driving or not starting when we returned to the car. We purchased the vehicle in June 2021 and we are on our third infotainment system. We've also experienced the driver assistance feature going out whilst driving, but it would come back on quickly. The was until 2 days ago. Whilst driving at 45 mph the car suddenly lost power, the driver assistance warning lights and sounds came on, the steering wheel started to wobble and the car behind me had to brake to avoid hitting me. We've returned the vehicle to the dealership and will be opening a case with VW for a refund. Car looks fantastic, but we've experienced some technical and safety issues with this vehicle in North America.

Sorry to hear about you specific experience. Glad also, however, that this issue seems to be an isolated issue. There are many reports of the car functioning really well and drivers having a great time with their ID4. We’re one of them. Over 7.6k miles since mid-April and loving every single mile!

Just wanted to put a little perspective on things……especially since forums are more full of issues/problems than successes. There’s a similar thread on FB and the “great experiences” have crawled out of “hiding.” Of course they’re not really hiding, they’re just satisfied owners.

Good luck with you buyback.
