ID.4 Trim Comparison

A lot of times clicking through the trim options, I seem to get the wrong details for the selected trim (e.g. 19" wheels for the Statement plus Gradient package). I think what is happening is that the click on "additional features" is actually deselecting the higher level trim.

I made the attached spread sheet comparing the U.S. trims. Does this look right?

I'm a 1st, but I think I would prefer just the Statement package, if not for the later shipping (no white wheel and driver's display), possibly AWD, or not. It is also possible that the 19" wheels might make for a slightly softer ride.

hmm, but I do think I want the roof rails, oh well, so it looks like 1st or Statement + Gradient ...
Wait, it is just black or sliver roof rails! I will fix the spread sheet. (v4, front VW logo, also Sirius XM radio)

I think (?) our current info is 1st adds the hitch, and possibly no illuminated VW logo (from the earlier posted cheat sheet)

Good job! I ordered the 1st and like everything about it except the white steering wheel, arm rests and accents. Why didn't they go with something like a carbon fiber look? The 19" wheels would provide a more compliant ride, but the 20's look good.

Thanks @emtonsti for the detailed doc! I feel the same as @ID.4 about the white steering wheel in my future 1st edition. The look is fine, but I'm dreading keeping it clean and nice looking.
@emtonsti,

Thank you for the information.

If I recall AWD gets you the hitch and heated windshield. Does anyone know if it includes anything else?

Also, seems odd that the Pro Standard doesn't come with a center armrest for the rear seats. VWs always seam to have the center armrest with Ski Hatch. Which most other major car manufactures do not.
From what I've read, the 1st Edition also comes with the tow hitch. I'm counting on it for using my bike carrier.

Thanks for compiling this very useful spreadsheet. 1st Edition in White on the books.
Educated guesses. The Pro is also available in Germany. For Standard/Statement:

Side trim (Standard/Statement): black
Roof, including front, back and tail: body color
Steering wheel: black
Interior accents (those that are white on 1st Ed): match interior selection

Thank Erick. I seem to have an issue using the configurator on VW's German site. I've tried on Chromebook, MacBoook, and Windows machines. Does configurator work for you? If so, what browser / OS are you using?
I have with Firefox, but without translation...so I was mostly lost. :)

Emtonsti, I think I found something that needs to be changed in your comparison sheet. I don't believe the Statement package includes "Powered Folding Side Mirrors with Illumination"....at least not per the configurator on US VW website. I'd love to be wrong.

Per the VoA press release, Statement does include power-folding side mirrors. :D
The Statement package adds a panoramic fixed-glass roof, premium LED projector headlights with Volkswagen’s Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) and power-folding side mirrors with puddle lamp signature

ALL - Please take note of the disclaimer: (This is a best guess table with informed input, NOT an official VW document )

BTW: VW, if you see any of these discussions, we really could use an official version of this document. :)

Sorry for the confusion I generated.

Per the VoA press release, Statement does include power-folding side mirrors. :D

Thanks for the double check!
If anyone ever thinks they see a mistake or mis statement in one of my posts, please feel free to speak up. (especially if polite) No need to ever apologize for asking a question or pointing out an error (I'm just a member, not a forum policy statement).
Is it worth adding the few things that are added with the AWD version?

happy to add 1st and AWD, but let's have a list first, then I would add it to the spreadsheet.
From Dealer Cheat Sheet:

1st Edition Adds:
  • Play/pause pedals
  • White interior accents
  • 1st Edition welcome screen
  • 1st Edition badging and steering wheel clip
  • 1st Edition one-piece flitzer (still curious what this is)
  • Black mirror caps
  • Tow hitch
1st Edition Deletes:
  • Stitching on dash
  • Illuminated front logo

AWD adds:
101 Hp front engine, for a total of 302 Hp
Tow hitch capable of towing 2700 lbs, if trailer is equipped with brakes.
Heated windshield.

RWD capable of towing 2200 lbs, if trailer is equipped with brakes. A British site lists RWD capable of 750 kg w/o trailer brakes.

I believe across all option levels
Ver. 7! (may have to fill the screen to read it, 11x17 paper now)

BTW, I sent VW the link explaining group effort, and asked if they would consider an official trim feature list (similar spreadsheet or any format they like), also explained the problem with clicking on a trim and ending up with the description of another trim (because the click deselects the box). Also, told them about the color questions.

Okay, Thanks! I have do some work for a while so I can later pay for my ID.4 :)

Will add both later. If they engage in a conversation, please ask VW if we can get an option for a heat pump too. Thanks.
