ID.4 will not shutdown?

Has anyone experience the car not shutting down and the large screen is rebooting and the small screen has the red parking brake kit up. On the small screen I get errors like the system feature are not available and so forth I tried locking and unlocking the doors this problem happened after using the blink charger

did you try pressing the start and stop button?

Yes I took it in the dealership and they said that they cleaned the keypad that fixed it so I shall see
May I ask what you mean by keypad? Can’t really visualize anything in the car that resembles a keypad

I think they just mean the Infotainment "tablet" interface. Capacitive keypad if you like? ;)

Not sure what "cleaning" was accomplished nor in this context how that would make any difference (never had my iPad lockup because I was tardy in cleaning same). Would be nice to see an excerpt from the dealership's service paperwork.

Also not sure what a "blink charger" is. The pulsing green light at the ID.4's charge port when an EVSE plug is properly engaged?

The parking brake button works well for me, but as suggested also the start/stop button on the steering column if needs be.

Has anyone gotten in the car to find the brake pedal engages easily? Usually there's the firm resistance that you have to continue putting pressure so the car starts up, but sometimes I find it engages as if I were braking to come to a stop. Nothing is actually on until I do press the brake, but I find it odd that it's not that same consistent "hard pedal" feeling.

Yes, very occasionally myself. Perhaps it has something to do with the state of the brake accumulator at that particular occasion. 🤷‍♂️

btw: the only issue I've had is when firmly pressing and holding the brake pedal for an extended period prior to putting it into 'gear.' The ID computer(s) didn't like that!

My more typical habit pattern is to sit and wait for all the icons to appear on the tablet (ambient lighting always last for me). I then fairly briefly put my foot on the brake, switch the 'transmission', and off I go.

As any aviator will tell you every aircraft has a "personality", so why should my ID.4 be any different? At least no "bitching Betty." ;)
