Huh? That’s huge news. I haven’t got any news from my dealership about car arrival. They have reached out when I reserved the car and to come view it. If this is the case, two things may be true. The cars are already stateside. And the VW portal is not accurate.

So what's new :p Dealership and manufacturer communication sucks big time. We knew that already.

I am holding on to my reservation, but at this time I committed to eTron instead. I saw the demo unit and no matter how much I want to like ID.4, there are things missing in the interior design I cannot just overlook. The whole screen sticking from the dash just bothers me more and more.

Emailed with my EV Specialist in metro Atlanta today. He didn’t have any updates on my car, but said their demo unit would be arriving on March 22. I hope mine comes with it.

The eTron is probably out of my budget so I haven't really looked at it closely. I'm curious what some of the top things the eTron has that the ID.4 doesn't have? What makes it significantly better, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks

There have been pictures posted for a few weeks of cars at the port in Rhode Island and another person said he saw cars at the port in Baltimore a week or so ago. So yes, cars are already stateside and have been for a few weeks.
The VW Portal is/has unfortunately been a bad joke. Looks good on paper, but meaningless in actuality.

You are trying to compare a $40,000+ VW ID.4 car to a $65-70,000+++ Audi eTron. If you are talking about the Audi Q4 eTron there has only been concept and some spy euro styling photos with no real pricing yet (just some guesses).

Spoke to my EV sales person at my local dealer in NJ earlier and he told me that he expects cars to arrive around March 10th and possible pickup by March 15th. Can't wait !
I wonder why 5 days from arrival to customer ready? (there is a weekend, that could be part of it)

Dealer prep and possibly software update. If 2.1 is anything like 2.0, that alone takes a full day.

ID4 is not their only product. My dealer has a 20+ quota per weekend. Ya' think we're their only customers? I'm thinking that at least one of "our" EVs is going to be sitting in the showroom before we are notified.
I'm sure VINs are already attached to dealers.
If a dealer has 25 EVs allocated he doesn't want them all showing up on the same day.
This only my conjecture... what the heck do I know about dealer operations, as if.

What will come first (I'm 65+) my ID4 or my COVID-19 vaccination? I'm in central Maryland, 3-6 inches of snow tonight 😁.

I wonder if anyone else has confirmed this with their dealership. Mine still has no indication of delivery dates except sometime this spring. 🙄

I haven't heard a word, but I have work related stuff keeping me busy right now. If I haven't heard in 2 weeks, I will start calling...

I sent my dealers EV guy an email today, but I haven't heard back from him yet. He has told me that most of the time I have info before he does.

I emailed with mine yesterday. He had no info on my car. He did say they expect to get their demo unit on March 22. (Metro Atlanta area)

VW graphic on vehicle delivery, posted somewhere on this forum, showed 1st editions starting to be delivered about 15-March with demo versions a week or so later.
