We had that happen one time, it corrected itself as we were driving.
Vehicle one week old, under 200 miles driven.

VW Customer Care is aware of this issue. It would be helpful if you document it with them.
What is the easiest way to report to them?

Does rebooting infotainment (on/off button hold 10 sec) or shutting down/locking the car fix this? Or does it disappear right after you start a car?

rebooting infotainment fixes this .. at least it did for me..
What's the reboot method? Button combo kind of thing or menu item? My explorer easily reboots with two buttons. Honda is like "who would ever need to reboot their computer radio? and fixed the only known method of forcing a reboot."

Hold infotainment power button for 10+ seconds until screen goes black and infotainment reboots.

Hold the power button down
How long do they normally take to respond? I emailed them two days back and nothing yet

I'm not positive but I believe this is for all VW owners.
Just to confirm. [email protected] is for the US market. Yesterday I received a polite response to my issue.

Here at CARE we specialize in working with vehicles made for the United States market and with United States dealerships, so I regret I'm unable to directly assist you with your concern. However, I appreciate the opportunity to point you towards the best resource as we are thankful for your feedback and definitely want to document this. We just have to get you over to the correct spot. From your email, I understand you are located in Finland and below is the link to Volkswagen in Finland: https://www.volkswagen.fi/fi.html

This information is definitely a step in the right direction, as Volkswagen of Finland is in the best position to assist you further. As a valued member of our VW family, please let me know if you have any questions about the information I provided.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to email us again.

With that said, I definitely agree that as a global community, we should make our respective VW care organisations/dealerships aware of any issues so we get weed out these this issues :)

I had the same issue when picking up my brand new car. The seller was a little embarassed. We get away from the car and come back after 2 minutes and it was back to normal. So I guess a reboot of the infotainment system should do the trick too

I was charging and I held down the power button until the unit powered back up and all was well after that.
