Congratulations - it's great that the ID.4 works for you!

Unfortunately I'm in a different boat - I expected something that would work and not be riddled with bugs. I wish that I could stand the audio and charge it in a single session without several failures. Maybe I expected too much.

Does yours have the 2.1 update. That has fixed the majority of the problems.

I just took delivery of my ID.4 Pro S tonight & I love it. Dealer said there were things on it they weren鈥檛 expecting such as topstitching on dashboard & the lighted VW on front is awesome. They said this is one of the first in US.

I hope this means the lighted front logo will be available as a part to order soon, I really really want it for my FE

What issues are you having? For VWs first US EV, I'm truthfully not surprised that there are a ton of bugs, but also slightly disappointed since this isn't VWs first actual EV.

I will however caveat that by saying none of the bugs I've had, have had any significant impact on function/usability other than maybe the infotainment system and one time the travel assist wouldn't engage and kept giving me an error. When I came back to it after leaving it overnight it had returned to normal and I haven't had any issues since. I did ask my dealer about it it and if there were any problems with any of my systems, he told me unlikely (although they ran a diagnostic just to be sure) and that VW was aware of an issue with sensor placements that could impact various systems.. I was told that water essentially can sometimes enter (not sure if that's 100% accurste) and slightly pool causing the malfunction. The easy fix being finding which and drying it with a cloth, the other being just let it sit and air dry.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a bunch of problems. Sometimes I get the sense that VW rushed to production with not enough functional testing. To play devils advocate, EVs are still very very new relative to other vehicles so its unsurprising that there are a bunch of kinks. However, for a 40k+ (which is by no means expensive, but also not cheap) car, I do definitely agree with others that it's disappointing, especially if your car is one of those with the nightmare stories we've all seen on here.

Congratulations, mine is set to be delivered sometime in January. Glad to hear positive feedback especially from a MB owner, your standards are probably higher for quality than someone driving a Toyota or Ford.

I've documented my problems elsewhere in the forum. The most serious hard failure was when the gear selector switch failed when my wife was driving the car home. It had to be towed to the dealer, but they diagnosed it quickly and I had it back in about 10 days.

The most impactful and frustrating bug is the complete failure of delayed / timed charging. I was perhaps the first US customer that documented this fully with VW o A (they claimed it had not been reported before), and numerous people on the forum helped with that. I have had a few EVs since 2012, and they all had delayed charging that worked. VW advertises this as a working feature (in its manual, videos, etc.) but it never charges from ~30% - 50% and it can fail in many ways.

I have an EV time of use plan with my utility, with off-peak pricing of $0.18 / kWh and on-peak pricing of $0.51/kWh. Charging on-peak is equivalent to paying $4.50 / gal for gas. Now I have to wake up at midnight to plug my car in to get the off-peak rate.

I frequently experience numerous other bugs. Yes, I have lost travel assist several times too. The volume adjustment fails to work about 1 try out of 10 - the car then will only adjust the volume of its voice command system (somewhat recoverable). My whole infotainment screen frequently goes black when using Android Auto on trips longer than an hour. Others too.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a bunch of problems. Sometimes I get the sense that VW rushed to production with not enough functional testing. To play devils (sic) advocate, EVs are still very very new relative to other vehicles so its unsurprising that there are a bunch of kinks.
I have only had EVs since 2012 (Chevy, Tesla, Toyota) and have never had one with so many bugs.

I am happy that the ID.4's bugs have not significantly impacted your use of your car.
