I guess you have to have the vin. All i have is the reservation id
Yes, you need the VIN. Back in the early pages of this whole thread there are instructions on how to get it. You basically go into your owner's portal and then use the "more tools" from your computer to look through the coding. There are descriptions based on your operating system.

I finally picked up my Pro S today. It started pouring as soon as I got home so no pics. I hope you all get to have your cars soon too.

Does anybody know if "Leaving the factory" means "leaving the factory" or "in the boat"? Or something else?

Getting more data to play the "what ship may have my car?" game.

From my experience and what I have put together it means literally rolling out of the factory door. Then needs to go by rail to Emden then wait there, then on the boat.

This is useful. I am in the SF Bay Area. I see that SIEM CICERO is docking on Emden soonish, and it seems to travel from/to Houston, so maybe my car will be there, and then it will rail to us. Maybe.

To make the game more fun, I read that some cars are coming in ships across the Panama canal. I did a quick check and it seems that the SIEM and GLOVIS ships have a beam of 32 meters, so they fit, even in the small Panamax class.

Oh well. At least it is out of the factory.

Thanks

There is also the Viking Queen, but that's on it's way to San Diego right now. Expected in May 8. It also went through the Panama Canal. I definitely would see what is currently in Port or about to be in Port in Edmen. That will probably be your ship.

Pick up went ok. They will have you test drive again to make sure you want the car. You will deal with the salesman, manager, and finance person. He will try to scare you to get GAP insurance and extended warranty. Other than that it was pretty straight forward. I wished we could have done the VW credit app online. That would have spread up the process some. I don’t know if you are buying or leasing. I bought. They tried to give me 2.6% instead of 2.06% because they thought I was going to do a 72 months instead of 60.

But I got my deposit and $1500 credit fine. Good luck. I’m enjoying the car.
Hi PGilly, when you took delivery of your ID4, did you remember if the finance manager you worked with mentioned something about the carpool decals? Did they mention to you that they will help to submit the application to DMV for your carpool decals?

What ship is that? I went to step 4 on 3/20 and my EV specialist said it was going through San Diego. I had eyes on the Viking Queen, but I just got an email that it’s going through Maryland; I assume Baltimore. I hadn’t been paying a lot of attention because I had a huge system conversion at work. That just launched, so now I’m going to be watching this like crazy.

I'd been assuming it's on the Mediterranean Highway, based mostly on the fact that I went to step 4 on April 6 and that ship left Emden about two weeks after that, per this thread. Could be wrong, though! Anyway, it was apparently due in to Baltimore last night, but is now anchored in the bay.

Went to step 5 of 7 today (May 5). Step 4 of 7 was March 18. Base Pro. Dealer said previously the port would be San Diego. Printed the Moroney sticker from WithClutch this morning (0244xx) and yep it shows San Diego. Same VIN from Dealer info in March. I thought it would have been on the Viking Queen - obviously I was wrong. So... I don't know how it arrived San Diego - other port and rail? Or previous ship and it just took a while to process? Will wait patiently for transport to Las Vegas.

You can also call your dealership and they can look up the VIN for you.
