My last two visits to Electrify America , I just plugged in and started charging without any credentials or app. Anyone else experiencing this? I love ID 4’s flat charging curve, consisting getting high speeds even over 80%

Was it this last weekend? It was reported on this forum that EA was offering free charging this weekend; when EA does that they do not require a payment method (credit card or app).
It was today and this past Saturday

I think it happened to me the weekend of Aug 14th or so. But EA didn't display anything saying why it was free (plug n charge). Back on 4th of July weekend they did display on screen free charging weekend. Each time this happens my first instinct was plug n charge is finally enabled. but nope. lol

Yah, appears to be coinciding with some free days of charging from EA and not Plug and Charge. Can't wait for the plug and charge updates to start rolling though.

Plug and Charge should (IMO) still send you a summary of the session to your account to which your car is linked, either to the Car-Net or EA app.
In these cases of 'free charging days' no information about the session gets back to you as an individual aside from what's on the charger screen at the end of the charge. (I've taken pictures when I notice this is going on to keep track)

I had it happen on our trip last week to Vegas. It was in the town of Needles. It was one of the few lines on the trip that charged at 125kw and I just plugged it in and it worked. It had the option to put your phone number in to notify you when you were at 80%. If they can program it for this, they can surely program plug and play for subscribers!!!!

Seems like 25% of the time I go to charge its a free weekend or free day and I don't have to do anything to start charging.
I heard when the EA station has trouble communicating (billing? accounts?) with some central service it provides free electrons. It is station-dependent. You don't even see the charge on your charge history. Mach-E owners have seen this too.

Just wondering if anyone had any updates. When I talked to someone at EA they said plug and charge would start in October ‘21 but I haven’t seen any progress and haven’t seen a single OTA!, really starting to get disappointed, if you purchase an OTA car it should be receiving updates at least once a month.
Polestar just pushed a major OTA to their vehicle, let’s go VW! I never bought the ID 4 for OTA updates but it would be nice 😊

The only way we'll have plug and charge by Halloween is if it is an EA free day 🤣😂🤣.
