Had a question on pricing. The build shows price breakdown, deposit and monthly payment. Can I expect to pay this amount or do I need to plan on (still) negotiating with my chosen dealership?

I hope and expect to pay something close, especially with great credit. I'd love to hear from you about your experience and your bottom line prices and payment based on what the portal told you.

Thanks!

We had read that it is wise to shop around, as so dealers are openly charging way above MSRP for these cars, and others are not. When we placed our order, the dealer we listed for the pickup location was NOT the dealer closest to us, but it was a dealer that assured us they are not charging above MSRP for these cars (and based on local reviews, we believe them). So I would highly recommend you do your homework and vet the dealer you plan to purchase through...

thanks for your response Meeshy. Yes, nor over sticker price! I am going to lease it because I am a business owner. The problem is now negotiating the "money factor" like an APR but for leases ... and they have started waaayyy high but I'n not budging becasue I can get a Tesla Model 3 cheaper!

Ultimately the dealer retains the right to set the final price - it's there in the fine print. Given the state of the auto market, it's going to be hard to get much under MSRP. But you shouldn't have to go over MSRP either or be forced to buy a bunch of add-ons you don't want. I paid MSRP + destination + state taxes/fees + $125 doc fee. As always you have the right to walk away anytime before the moment you sign, be prepared to exercise that right.

State tax may or may not be included in the amount you've been quoted - Check that. On my $41,750 Pro model in Mississippi that came to a little more than $2K

If you get quoted to pay more than MSRP you should contact VW and complain. They have been setting dealers straight about the price of the cars. Anything less than MSRP is a bonus. :)

Before you lock you should shop around for other fees. You can shift the dealer until you lock by calling customer care, but their wait times generally suck. After you lock, you CAN get it changed, but the dealer will have to get involved and it's not nearly as easy.

Yes, the money factor is negotiable down to the base /"buy" rate which I do not recall but can be queried on the Edmunds forums. I think tier 1 credit from VW is credit score greater than 740, so if you're score is in tier 1 you can negotiate for base mf. I know some dealers are really reluctant to give buyers with excellent credit base money factor because it's a sellers market
