Hello,

With all the information provided on the ID.4 so far I can make a good judgement on the car and I preordered. What makes me most nervous is the color!

What is "Kings Red"?

Does VW have another model that's Kings Red? Is it a bright cherry red or hitting a more subtle color? I like red, but I can't tell from the computer screen if the red I see is the red I'll get and the red I'll like! Some comparisons would help.

Thanks,
Matt

Yeah, metallic colors (almost) always have a black underlayer which tends to "cut" the main color a little and give it a refined, understated look with a lot of depth. Kings Red, while somewhat stronger and brighter than many other red metallics, looks great. As does the Honey Yellow we don't get in the US, and the Dusk Blue.

I would go honey Yellow if available. Saw a similar color on an Arteon and it looks so much better in person

you could do one of those fancy wraps and get any color you want and protect the original coat. I've always wondered about getting one of those on my cars, but have never done it. I wonder what the cost and lifespan of those are?

I saw the demo cars and their wraps and it did get me thinking....... ;)
If it wasn't wildly expensive and would last several years I might be inclined to give it a try. And if inexpensive enough you could change every year just to mix things up!

Cost depends a lot on where you live, but figure for a standard wrap to be in the $5,000 neighborhood and last 5-7 years.

Cost is around a few thousand. Not an every year type of thing unless you’ve got money to burn.
