Our family is waiting for delivery of an ID4 and there's two things I am unsure of.

1. When we pick up our kids from school / daycare our dog usually comes along for the ride and in our Atlas we just leave the car running so she can hang in there with the A/C on. The way I understand it is that once the driver exits the car the ID4 assumes you're done and shuts the car off and you have to hit the Instant Climate Control button to keep the A/C going. Is that enough to keep the cabin cool enough for the dog to hang for a few minutes?

2. A similar question is if I run into a store while my wife and kids are in the car. If I get out is there a way to tel the car I don't want it to turn off and leave the radio and A/C on for them? For example, can I just leave the key in the car or get out and then have my wife press the climate control button?

Thanks in advance!

The "immediate climate" option works fine, slight limitation is "max AC" mode doesn't continue, but if the car is already at good temperature it's not needed.

Normally when the driver exits the seat, the radio will stop though.
However at that point anyone can press the start/stop button on the steering column to turn the radio and other functions back on.
