Low Range - Las Vegas

Had my PRO S for three weeks now. Currently at 500 miles. I seem to average only 2.5 to 2.6 mi/kwh. Till now only city driving and mostly driving in comfort mode with “B”. Even Eco mode it’s the same result. It’s hot out here in vegas so constantly running AC at 72-76. I see lot of them average the consumption around 3.1 mi/kWh. Is this something I need to worry about.

BMS of the car is really weird behaving. It seems like the car loses its charge very fast after 70 percent idk I’m getting range anxiety these days hope it’s not too bad

Try D mode and move to Eco drive mode, I have found better range performance. I average of 3.5 miles/kW in South Carolina and it is hot (maybe not as hot as NV right now). 2.5-2.6 seems super low unless your are driving aggressively.

I drive very smooth and cautious.

That is strange - I get about 4 mi/kWh when driving in town in B / sport mode (but smoothly). My ID.4 is noticeably more efficient (but smaller inside) than my previous car, a 2013 Toyota RAV4EV (only ~3.1 mi/kWh).

I'm very solidly at 3.0/3.1 mi/kWh no matter what i do. If I was at 2.6 I'd take it to the dealer to make sure there isn't something going on.

4?? With AC off I never got 4 or close to it. 3.5-3.6 max

Rule out the usual suspects - check your tire pressures.

I'm in a temperate climate and rarely use AC. Temp is about 70 - 75 F lately, pretty ideal for EV efficiency. I do drop to 3.4 - 3.5 mi/kWh at ~65 - 70 mph on freeway.

Wow. Could you please also share what other specific setting you have been using? Like ECO on WiFi off ID off and so forth? Thanks

I did a couple posts above. The settings (besides climate) don't make much difference in my multi-EV experience.

I’m seeing lower efficiency now that it is hot, also Vegas, and the AC is always on. I’m like half suburb half freeway and at around 2.8ish where I was 3.4 in May. Probably constantly cooling the battery pack as well.

I just got the windows tinted with UV rejection and I think that actually helped my mi/kW. Kinda early to tell but I really want to justify the cost so I’m gonna say yes.
I observed while I was driving in NYC that with AC on, going at slower speeds in the city consumes more than driving at say 50 mph. So slow speeds with AC on is not effecient. I average 3.4 mile/kwh @ 3000 miles with 50-50 highway and suburb.

We live in Arizona. We drive in B mode in town and in ECO. I get about 3.5 to 3.7. My heavy footed wife gets 3.2 to 3.5.

I drove my wife's FE this morning and was surprised to see lifetime at 3.7. The last time I checked it was 3.4. With us it is the exact opposite. When I drive it I rarely get out of the 2's.
