Nice, but I have to ask - What is powering the lights?

My guess from the picture is, there are deep-cycle 12V batteries (10?) on the floating dock at the bottom right of the tree, a DC-AC converter, and a solar panel at the top left to charge them.
Yes I can see what you are talking about. However, if the lights are LED the DC-AC converter could be eliminated or replaced with a DC-DC unit. Maybe getting into a technical analysis would be better left to another day, and just stick with:

I think you'll find that conventional mains-powered LED holiday light strings will only light half the string when run on DC (and the other half of the string when run on DC of the opposite polarity).

This lets the DC load of the LEDs not result in an overall DC load on the AC power lines (that really, really hate DC loads).

Boxing day celebration in the US? In Canada, we keep the British tradition of Dec. 25th & 26th being statutory holidays.

TY, but I can't stomach Italian food at Xmas time.
