Mirror tilting when in reverse issue? [USA rotary switch to "right"]

That worked, but only for the right mirror. Shouldn’t it dip both mirrors? I also have the option to synch mirror adjustments turned on. Thanks.
Traditionally in VAG cars, this only dips the curb/kerb-side mirror. I don't know how the ID.4 is expected to behave.
Only the right [USA passenger] mirror is designed to dip when in reverse to aid in curb/kerb-side parallel parking; ID.4 included. Hence why the rotary knob needs to remain in the 'right' position.
This provision has been available on many USA foreign/domestic vehicles for a number of years.

Perhaps I’m screwing things up on step #5 (switching ignition off). Does one use the button on the right side of the steering column for that? When trying to get the mirror to dip in reverse I’ve made sure to have the selector set for the right-side mirror.

Thanks.
Yes, you can certainly use the button on the steering column - with foot off the brake pedal.
