Has anyone made any modifications to ID.4 or got aftermarket accessories?

After being a owner of the id.4 1.st Pro in about two month's I have started "adjusting" some of the things I find annoying or missing.
  • wrapping the pianofinish elements with vinyl wrap. Door handle, center console and around the air vents in the backseat
  • Added a "net" under the hood to make 4 "frunk" compartments. In front of the battery, on top of the center plastic, behind the badge and left of the aircondition unit. Holds both chargingcables, a 10m extra cable, a spare washerfluide container and my firstaid bag (yes, a bag).
  • Added a "box" to store thing under the center console.
  • Added two ledbars under the cover in the trunk, to give better lightning
  • Added "carpet like" cover on the front part of the dashboard, preventing sunreflections
  • Added mudflaps on all 4 wheels

awaiting "adjustments"
  • Ordered gasdempers to hold the hood open without using the rod (since I now have a frunk).
  • Adding self-adhesive "carpet" to the lower plastic parts in the frond footwell
  • Adding storerage "box" under the seats in the front

Hope to see some nice aftermarket stuff soon :)

Where did you order "gasdempers" or lift supports for front hood? Good idea

Can you send pics of your frunk setup? Sounds interesting

There is a huge thread on exactly this. It'll take you a while, but work through it. It was linked above.

But in short:
wrapping the pianofinish elements with vinyl wrap. Door handle, center console and around the air vents in the backseat
I've done this; it's on the above-mentioned thread.

Quite a few have discussed this but I haven't seen anything concrete yet.
  • Added a "box" to store thing under the center console.

One of the members of this forum is printing one and there's a link to their Etsy page. I've ordered one - it gets here tomorrow. Will post pics!
  • Added two ledbars under the cover in the trunk, to give better lightning
[*]Added "carpet like" cover on the front part of the dashboard, preventing sunreflections
First I've heard of either of these. Good luck!
  • Added mudflaps on all 4 wheels
This one has been done. Search for it; I think there's a dedicated thread.

awaiting "adjustments"
  • Ordered gasdempers to hold the hood open without using the rod (since I now have a frunk).
  • I haven't seen this discussed in any concrete way yet. Please update us!
  • Adding self-adhesive "carpet" to the lower plastic parts in the frond footwell
This sounds like it would look very nice, but it's the first I've seen this mentioned. Let us know!
  • Adding storerage "box" under the seats in the front
Haven't seen this mentioned before, either.

Sorry, the post "what mods have you done to your ID.4 this week" is where this actually should have been posted.

I built a small kitchen for my trunk. This way I can prepare a meal while my car is charging. This has come in most handy when driving long distances (I've been on 3 ~1500 mile trips over the past two months).

The toaster oven and tea kettle sit on top of one wooden crate that has a drawer that extends out and over the lip of the trunk. I store everything you see on top of the crate in the crate when it's not in use.

This induction hot plate is sitting on top of a second crate and next to the first one.

The toaster oven, tea kettle, and hot plate are all powered off of a separate battery and inverter that can handle 1200-1500 watts of power. I am sure my next VW will have plugs stronger power outlets...
