Over the past few days we have been getting several different alerts on the drivers screen. Also the blind spot monitor light on the drivers side mirror was lit with no car in the lane. My wife was driving in the far left lane when this light was on. All these issues fix themselves after a period of time. The car is going to the dealer Friday.

A couple times of late I haven't been able to shift into reverse. I hit the column start/stop button and it clears. Unnerving none the less.

I hate going for dealership service but if this becomes more common ....

Interesting (sic) how many issues self-clear. 🤷‍♂️ There seem to be more of them of late. Is VW OTA-experimenting with us???

Sorry to hear that you are having these problems.

Have you tried looking for fault codes with an OBD2 reader and an app on your phone?
Might be good to document and correlate with specific problems.
I have not. I have an OBD2 reader but I will let the dealer check it out. This is the packet of codes they found when I asked them to check out a charging issue I had.

There have been no reoccurrences of these issues in the past few days and all seems to be fine. I had to change my appointment at the dealer to next Wednesday. I will have them do the light adjuster recall then as well.

I haven't heard from my dealer on the light adjuster thing. Strange considering they've been remarkably communicative to date. I'm just going to wait on it and see if they or VWoA issue a bulletin. It's not really a safety item, just a [USA] human-meddling safeguard. ;)

Then after 3 dealer visits they can't find anything wrong with the car and send you home!

I start hating this cars already.

I am happy with it when it works WITHOUT issues!!!

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Did the dealer find any any fault codes stored, and did you ask what they were? Could they not reproduce the problem?

A dealer's service department generally will not go out of their way to help you. You may have to help them by documenting the problem well - did you take photos of the errors?

This will also be useful if you want to start a buyback case with VW.

Well, yes! I made Videos about all the issues I am experiencing. The problem is that these problems are not consistent and they are unable to reproduce them. They say basically I am an idiot who does not know how to program stuff - However, unfortunately I have an major in IT. So I know my s..t and is is really not rocket science - the problem is they don't care and/or don't listen to my complaints.
I went to the dealer now 3 times - THAT by it self cost a LOT OF TIME and effort on my end - NO car, looooong wait and once a loaner !!! NOTHING IMPROVED!
The inability to charge the car at home on a timer drives me up the wall by it self. Many people complain about it - VW does nothing and the dealer sticks the head in the sand! Again, I have videos about it, they don't care. I have to DELETE the home location in order to be able to charge manually at home - How sad is that?! I drove the 18 Leaf for 3 years and Tesla as well but NEVER had issues like this...

Yes, the inability to charge on a schedule is a monumental bug and can cost an extra $1000 a year for people on TOU electric rates. Others have documented it with dealers who have opened Technical Assistance cases with VW of America (& likely Europe). VW has confirmed the problem and has noted that it requires an "engineering solution." We'll see if it ever gets fixed.

Your previous post implied that you were also getting blind spot errors along with travel assist and ACC errors. Did you ask your dealer to check if any and what fault codes were present?

You can also try explaining the specific problem in an email to VW customer care: [email protected]
I did that for the scheduled charging problem a couple months ago and they opened a case and they contacted the dealer and set up a service visit.

Good luck!

Is there a list of the warning icons for ID.4? The ones in the handbook are too small to see, and they're not all in one place. The icons are complicated designs which makes them tougher to decipher. Yes, I get warnings and icons sometimes too, but they are usually gone by morning. I guess the car resets or does some software maintenance when the car is shutdown for awhile? If the icon is like red then that indicates a possible problem, right? The white ones aren't of importance?

My '17 Bolt still has software issue and maybe other problems as well, but I'm resigned to them, and I don't want to pay troubleshooting fees (as my car was out of warranty years ago). I never took it in for small stuff as I was afraid the techs could cause more problems. I'm just happy that the car runs good on the road and hasn't had reliability issues. Also glad that by driving electric I'm playing a small part in having cleaner air and less global warming. My Pro is a far better car than the Bolt, but it's also more sophisticated which usually implies more things can go wrong....

They're sprinkled throughout the Owner's Manual, but there's also a section near the front that has a table of all of them in one place. You might find them easier to decipher in the online version. They're in the "Driver information" section, under "Symbols in the instrument cluster."

Thanks, cool! The icon I see most is the white autonomous emergency braking symbol. Turns out it's normal to see that when first starting off. But I was floored when I saw a symbol on the list for CO2 concentration. Like the ID.4 really has that? Maybe a high CO2 content would impair thinking and that's the reason for the sensor. If the A/C was on recirculate and there were say 4 folks in the car the CO2 levels could build up. Now I'm wondering if VW ICE cars have one for CO concentration as well?
