$#[+ happens 😕.Meanwhile, this photo but on a Tesla forum...
Hey man, necessity is the mother of invention!
Or the lady 5 months ago who asked me how to connect the DCFC plug to her gas tank 🙄.Not as awkward as the Mach-E owner that tried to plug a CHAdeMO charger in at an EA station when I was charging yesterday...
Not really funny I guess but a Louisiana hurricane evacuee pull up to me when I was charging in Gulfport. She was driving a 20 year old ICE sedan but all of the gas stations had about a half hour wait.Or the lady 5 months ago who asked me how to connect the DCFC plug to her gas tank 🙄.
Nothing out of ordinary Porsche owners park like this most of the time to have successfull shake and charging.....charging port on Porsche doesn't like stiff charging cables when is cold.I had to back in sideways to reach the only operational charger (out of 4). There was a Bolt waiting my last 5 minutes. View attachment 6150
It is simply uncanny how many people (non-EV owners, presumably) come up to me while I am charging the ID.4 at an EA station. It wasn't awkward but the first and only time my local EA station was full. I always enjoy talking to other EV owners and sharing experiences. View attachment 6165
When I drive in a 25 mph zone, I usually go 19 mph and observe the heads turning. That almost always brings a smile to my face 😊.When Walmart (presumably, since the EA stations are usually at Walmart in the Dallas area) shoppers hear the ID.4 external sound, they are seemingly attracted to it like moths to a flame.
I think to more resemble the Honda, Toyota, Mazda... compact ICE SUVs 🤔.Can someone tell me why they put the charging ports in the back instead of at the front of the car? My ELR had it in the front and seemed to make more sense.

You should try wearing clothes while you driveWhen I drive in a 25 mph zone, I usually go 19 mph and observe the heads turning. That almost always brings a smile to my face 😊.
I find it is unusual to have a charging session where someone isn't around asking questions. Truckers driving 18 wheelers have been literally half of the conversations I've had while charging. Reliably the first two questions are: How long does it take to charge and how far can it go on a charge? I love answering all the questions and meeting new people with my conversation-starting car.It is simply uncanny how many people (non-EV owners, presumably) come up to me while I am charging the ID.4 at an EA station.
When my wife and I were staying at an Airbnb cabin, I was charging at the Mt. Pleasant, TX EA station during the dead of the night and a fuel truck driver (filling up the nearby gas station) came up to me and starting asking about it while I was charging.
Really exciting for the future of electric vehicles.
