Im starting this post during week 3 of ownership. The purpose is not to complain, but keep a running total of things that dont work or stop working.
When this happens, or volume only goes up but not down, or the screen goes black or shows an inverted image, hold down the infotainment "power" button (lower left corner of the screen, next to the temperature slider), for about 10 seconds. Infotainment will reboot, and all will be well.Today, volume on radio stopped working. ...
still having issues rolling back at red lights and stuff too? Thanks that worked!
Im back to Ozzy and all is good. I'll play master of puppets at my own risk.
Great album...
Take your ID4 to any car parts store and ask them to load test your 12V battery. My car issued an electrical system warning and the 5 seconds later completely shutdown (still power but only basic I fo like warnings, time, temperature). Hoping it’s an electrical converter issue or the 12V battery was bad from the factory. I’d be happy with infotainment issues, please.
Thanks.Take your ID4 to any car parts store and ask them to load test your 12V battery.
You will need to power down your car while this is tested.....ID4 has to be off ( sleep mode) If it shows starting voltage over 13 V that means it is not sleeping...advise employee who test to make sure voltage is not 13V before preforming battery load test.
12V battery can go for many years trouble free or it can fail....
The ID.4's Infotainment "application server" (cpu & networked modules, aka ICAS) is independent from the one that runs the vehicle, so there shouldn't be any possibility of the infotainment getting in the way of or otherwise disrupting safety-critical tasks. There may be yet another dedicated to the camera and driver assistance systems, but again, separate from the A/V.My assumption is a cpu is shared on infotainment and is overloaded when there is a car speed didference greater then 20MPH causing adaptive cruise control to break and flash BRAKE NOW and it starts its emergwncy procedures causing a heart attack for me.
