I wanted to post my feedback for a few reasons: I think I have one of the first AWDs in the US, I want to avail myself to questions people have, I want to counterbalance what can seem like a lot of problems threads, and, most importantly, I want to share that you should buy this car!

This is my first EV. I’m coming from a turbocharged, six speed, sporty sedan. This thing is fast! While I’m still getting used to how it responds in D and B, I haven’t even just mashed the pedal and snapped my head back once maneuvering in traffic. It’s definitely fun to drive! Noticeably more power than the RWD in my opinion. I changed lanes on the highway at 50, by time I looked back from the mirror to the road I was at 70. Totally shocked me, which is a function of the power and how quietly it is delivered.

In a mix of highway and stop and go, D mostly above 40, B otherwise, I got 3.4 mi/kWh. I haven’t charged it yet.

I’ve had literally no issues. The software flow can be quirky (my son wanted green ambient; apparently you need to choose custom first before changing colors, as it’s not assumed that changing the color is custom). I let the car kind of boot up before driving, which I’ve read helps keep things stable. In the process of getting to know the car, I forgot it has massage seats - that was a nice surprise to be reminded! I have similar ideas as others for improvements (default lane assist to off, certainly below certain speeds, for example), but nothing noteworthy to report in terms of stuff I don’t like, other than “black” interior should be “black.”

All in all, I waited a year and a couple days. I think it was worth the wait. If you’re on the fence, do it! Let me know if there are any questions, happy to answer!

That’s great to hear! We picked up our AWD Pro S on 9/23 and couldn’t agree more… except I tend to just leave it in D and use the brake… :) Charging is a breeze… don’t forget to set limit to 80% and it will stop automatically. Enjoy!

Still waiting for mine. How do you set the limit to 80%? Is that a function of the car or the EVSE? I'd like to get a "dumb" charger like the Grizzl-E, but don't know if I can set a limit with it.

The max charging level is easy to set. When viewing the "vehicle" screen, pick the "charging" tab. You will see a slider that goes from 0% to 100% that lets you choose max charge level in 10% increments. I use a Grizzl-E Classic EVSE and my standard is charging to 80%. The only time I set it to more is if I'm taking a road trip. Then I shoot it up to 100% for departure.

And congrats to Blackout on the arrival of his AWD! I've never been into really speedy cars (even less so now that I'm in my late 60s.) I find the RWD more than quick enough for me. However, I have several friends that fall in the "faster is better" category who I know would appreciate chopping another second or two off their acceleration times.

Honestly, it’s not even that I’m looking for something fast. It’s a combo of a) all of the RWD reviews portraying this thing as a dog and the AWD is most certainly not, and b) just the amazement of all you get in one package: space, comfort, power and, for those so inclined, a little fun. Like I said above, I just think this car exceeds my expectations based on everything that was out there.

I think you’re gonna love it!
I think so. I was getting a little scared reading some things here and watching a few review videos but I'm thinking what most complain about wont bother me. I'm all in on the EV deal. Between the free EA charging and free solar charging at home I'll be driving for free!

It is true that some folks have had major problems and their cars have been in the shop for weeks or even months at a time but those instances are rare. I have had some software issues such as warning lights and locked screens but all issues have corrected themselves. We have 11k on the car in 6 months.

I'm most excited about your heated windshield. When somebody asks how fast any car is, windshield defrosts are often the first "slow thing" that comes to mind.
It is truly amazing - actually felt warm to the touch when we had our first frosty morning and I preconditioned the car with the defrost checkbox checked :) No scraping necessary! (Side windows are another story)
