superhappy ID4 GTX owner just dropping in to greet the ID4 community on this Forum!

January 6th was the date I could finally get my long-awaited ID4. I ordered this in the middle of June 2021.

Absolutely every option that was available was ticked, but little did I know that it would mean the start of a 19-month waiting period! The seller informed me several times during the waiting time that if I wanted to remove some of the options, I would shorten the waiting time due to restrictions on most +packages. But I decided to persevere. After all, I had an ID4 First edition that I enjoyed in the meantime. Now after finally getting my car, i`m so happy i didn`t undo any of the options ordered. it just make smile every Day!

PS: Since it`s wintertime here in Norway the 21` Narvik wheels must wait to come on a few months.... but the 19` aint to bad for wintertire purpose i think :)

H,
Does your ID4 have the heat pump? If so, how is your efficiency in the cold. If not how is your efficiency?
Yes, it has a 6.9 kw heat pump. I live in the north of Norway and we can really say that we have climate conditions similar to Canada or the northernmost states in the US. EVs without a heat pump would have been stillborn here... even with extra air resistance due to the roof box, it is below vw's reported consumption per mile. will come back later with updated numbers in miles.
es , that makes sense and good to hear.
We read that the model Y is number 1 in sales in Norway, but are there lots of ID4s being sold as well?
Do you see them on the road?
Welcome to the forum. Very nice SUVWe.

Are those GTX badging new for the MY23 in the EU or just for Norway?

thanks for that :)

The GTX badges on the doors and rear are standard for the 23 models. the reason is that the old badges we all know come loose and have to be taken to the dealer and repaired often several times.
Don't you think the new style is more clean and credits the car model better? Anyway, I think it's cool :)

If we do?? yes to a greater and greater extent now :) it is still rwd ID4 that dominates. There have been major delivery problems on the gtx due to component shortages and the somewhat higher level of equipment. That is why VW has prioritized mass delivery of the cars with a lower +package level and equipment, leaving us who ordered the GTX to wait...
But just before the turn of the year, LOTS of GTXs arrived in Norway. VW increased the production of cars for Norway enormously due to new taxes introduced from 01.01.23
if I had equipped and ordered an identical car like the one I have, today it will cost approximately 18,000 usd more than when I ordered.

interesting
so you had one on order and VW Norway honored your reservation price .

Here in the USA we had a reservation system until January 4th 2023. A couple of weeks prior to this VW of America announced a $1500
price rise that took affect on any cars built after 01/04. Our prior reservations made zero difference.
Absolutely! the black ceiling painted with glossy piano varnish, I'm not quite sure if I like it. will visit a company that deals in vinyl wrapping to investigate how much they will need to wrap the entire roof in the color of the car. If the price isn't bad, I think I'll give it a go!
Noooo I love the black roof...

You're welcome.

Yeap looks better and cleaner than the wing-style side badges in the current NA MY23 ID.4.

I also noticed the location of the GTX side badges is placed on the leading edge of the doors. Compared to the current wing-style badges placed on the trailing edge of the front fenders.

Btw, what kind of winter boots do you have on the GTX?

It is probably not VW Norway that honors the price guarantee. But it is probably rather that Norway is the leading country in Europe in terms of EV purchases per inhabitant. There has long been a VAT exemption for the purchase of an electric car. In addition, Norway is a highly speculative country, so here the manufacturers earn the most per car sold. So when the state announced a VAT surcharge on electric cars in 2022, the manufacturers were in a hurry to supply the market here before the taxes became due. it is the case that many people are now considering fossil cars again since the price of all EVs went up considerably 01.23

Not to panic! I’m only considerig wrapping so If i change my mind i can undo everything and allso it protects the roof underneath so it will be prestine black when the wrap comes off😀

i totally agree! It looks waaaaay better now!!

It sit’s on 19’’ continental Ice grip tire’s with studs👍👍 can be demanding driving conditions up here so with a heavy car like this it’s best to avoid studless tires😅
