NHTSA sent me info on 2 recalls for rear seat belts today. Plugged in my VIN and found out my Pro (produced on 21 March) is not affected. One recall affects some ID.4s and the other affects many Audi models and some ID.4s.

I only have the headlight adjustment tab recall associated with my FE per NHTSA VIN search, so presumed not affected. Pro S only? Or potentially a small group of VA AG affected by a particular vendor lot of parts. As we know, in a JIS/JIT production scheme part vendors can change periodically.

Oh I think some US ID.4 owners are going to get the recall once VW mails out letters on Oct 1. The icons all look the same on the first post above, but each one has different info. when opened. The one for the "Incorrect Seat Belt Assemblies Installed/FMVSS 208" affects about 12,060 ID.4s. If you plugged in your VIN and didn't get anything then you are probably in the clear. If you plug in VIN and find your car is going to get the recall then maybe check out the rear seatbelts to see if they seem to be working properly. If not, I'm guessing VW dealers would replace them right now as it would be a safety issue. I've never quite understood why recalls are announced by NHTSA long before letters are mailed out by the car manufacturer. Maybe it's to make sure the warehouses have enough parts on hand and dealers have received instructions?

My FE was identified as requiring the seat belt recall. VIN #008263.
Interesting.....must be "batch-specific" as mine is not showing a recall, plus the rear seatbelts appear to be working well (I have kids that have had to use them, so they're even "tested"). Maybe I'll catch the next recall (whatever that may be). If it has to happen, hopefully soon, as I will be taking my FE in for 10K service soon.

My Pro S is affected by the 21V607 recall. Luckily my kids are well past child restraint seats but of course I'll get it fixed in case I ever need to use one. Although it doesn't apply if you use LATCH to attach the seat, which is what I'd normally do, so it's an edge case of an edge case for me.

My Pro came off the assembly line almost 20,000 cars after yours (if one can tell from the last 6) and this morning it shows Manufacturer's Recall 69CQ. (Yesterday it showed no recalls). So it looks like NHTSA may sometimes send out notifications of recalls slightly before they update their database to actually show which VINs are being recalled.

Indeed, mine just popped up as well. In addition to the Headlight Adjustment Tab there is now the same Seatbelt Recall for my FE plus another similar [VW 69CQ and 69CR]:

I checked for the NHTSA recall yesterday and nothing came up. Today it is showing a recall for the seat belt issue on my Pro S.

The Headlight Tab thing is just a VW CYA safety item, but seatbelts are obviously a very important Safety item and typically such a recall isn't issued without having parts available, to at least some "pump primer" degree. If everyone suddenly tried to make an appointment that might cause a backlog however.
Mine is also now coming up with the recall. They probably don’t have parts though….

Simply by my reading, it appears the ALR disengages before it has fully retracted the rear-outboard belts. Apparently our NHTSA likes a skosh more retraction. I don't see why as most Americans need a skosh more room. 🤷‍♂️
Still trying to figure out what is different between the us and eu standards that the US deems unsafe

For the first item in the original post, it is the automatic lock on the retractor if you use the seat belt to secure a child seat. Even though I routinely install a child seat this way, I see it as an edge case because I also use the latch in the back of the rear seat, which I see as the single most important restraint point. Apparently, EU regulators see it the same way (or similar enough).
At some point i will get those belts checked and possibly replaced, but only when the part is in stock at my dealer and it's a painless visit.
