Owned the car for about 2 weeks. Today I took it out for a wash and a non-highway drive. Here in New England its cold, so I tried using what some folks suggested - steering wheel heater, seat heat, and I threw in a little foot heat. Worked just fine, so much so that I turned off the seat heat.

Car drives really well on back-ish roads, smooth, quiet and a handles quite well; I haven't yet figured out where the different drive modes are, so its most likely on what ever the dealer set it at.

I was a bit concerned going through a car wash, so I asked the kid; he suggested neutral, so I just put it in neutral and all was fine...cleaned up nice, especially after wiping it down when I got home.

All in all, this is a really fine vehicle; its fast enough, corners well enough, certainly smooth enough, has enough range (even in the cold). I wonder though why the 'mileage' readout has not moved off of 3.2, but I'll figure that out some day.

Thanks : )

Haven't tried this on my '23 but I would think it hasn't changed. When you are stopped put the car in N with the brakes applied. You will get a message on the inforainment screen with an option to disable the antiroll feature. You should disable antiroll before going through a car wash. Also turn off the wipers. I have forgotten and the rain sensors will turn them on if you forgot to turn them off.

Regarding the efficiency display you can cycle through long term, since charge, and since start by clicking the "OK" button on the right side of the steering wheel. Perhaps you're looking at the long term display.

Thanks for the replies; so I did fine the drive modes...seems like comfort is the best fit for now.

Regarding the mi/KWh on the display behind the steering wheel, clicking the ok button worked! Unfortunately, I inadvertently reset everything...oh well.

Really enjoying learning all the features.....

Our nothing special/positive experience day post: Dived deeper into the menus to try some of the features we hadn't explored before, as we were out all day driving in the mild NJ weather. Set a Custom drive mode with Sport Dynamics & Steering; Comfort Drivetrain & ACC; and Eco Climate. Worked for me nicely over all Comfort, which I do like, but nice to have a firmer driving feel without the full-on Sport mode experience! I'm going to keep this one for a while. Lane change assist is super smooth on the interstate, my wife (who won't likely ever use it) didn't realize the ID4 was making the moves, not hubby. A win all around! We both really love this car, even with its noteworthy "quirks and features." Given what I read around here, 3.1 really is an improvement, and I hope it finds its way to the many enthusiasts who came before us 2023 owners.
