Do you know if 17-inch wheels will fit at all? I have a set of Blizzaks on 17 inch wheels for my MK7 GTI that I would like to re-purpose. My GTI has the larger brakes of the Performance Package. I was told by Tire Rack that they do not recommend 17-inch wheels, but they might fit. My incoming ID4 will be AWD, so it’ll have the larger brakes too. Thoughts?
very unlikely, have seen 18” wheels only just clear the brakes, and am quite sure that a 17” won’t fit.
Better to selll these and buy the proper winters for the AWDs.

Wheels will be here tomorrow. I’ll try to roll the ID.4 off my ramps (still deer damaged) and test fit. I have an FE, so it should already have the bigger brakes. TR doesn’t usually list wheels that won’t fit but it will be good to confirm with photos.
well that’s the fuzzy part. The 77KW has bigger brakes than the smaller battery brothers, but the media keeps mentioning that the AWD has even bigger rotors. This would also be the reason apparently, why the AWD is allowed to pull more weight than the RWD.

I’m really curious to see if that’s just marketing fuzz or if there is really truth to that statement

I just referenced parts.vw.com in another thread and all models are showing the same front brakes in the USA. (RWD and AWD) Now I'm curious if we all already have the "big" brakes slated for the AWD, or if there are even bigger brakes coming as you mentioned.
Think that @Andy at Ross-Tech.com mentioned in a thread somewhere that he compared parts on a AWD VIN. Maybe he can check if that AWD uses the same rotor and caliper part numbers.

Then again, if you checked it already, my suspicion that it is all marketing fuzz might be true after all.
