Hello fellas,

I recently bought an OBDeleven, and I was wondering about adjust the ACC module.

Currently, the ACC reacts a bit too early for our driving conditions, and maintains a distance of about 2 meters between me & the car in front of me.

What I’m trying to do is reduce the distance between the cars by 25-30%.

can anybody help with that?

thanks

I am more comfortable with a distance between me and the vehicle ahead of me in the 50-75' range depending on speed. I trust technology, just not most of the drivers on the road. If that gap is too much for some then they can do just as they do and pull in front of me to not waste space I guess. I just slow down to my normal comfortable spacing and drive on.

The thing is, as I live and drive in Egypt, the current distance is VERY tempting for people to cut me off, which triggers the emergency break, which puts me in constant risk of crashing or being hit from behind.
that’s why I wanted to reduce the following distance by a little bit.
I feel it’s gonna be safer for semi autonomous driving

Assume you’re currently driving in 1 bar on the distance setting? I accidentally found myself driving in that setting here in New York (not as bad as Egypt, but probably closer to Egypt than the rest of America :ROFLMAO:) and I found it incredibly abrupt with its braking. It’s much smoother if you go to 2 or 3. Given that, I suspect it couldn’t physically handle anything closer than 1…

Was similar in Chicago. The conclusion is that you can’t use TA in these settings

Yeah, and in fact you probably want to save Travel Assist for long distance highway trips. It just may not be up to the chaos you’re describing!

As an aside, VW group (Audi, I think) markets a separate feature called Traffic Jam Assist, but again I suspect it’s designed for orderly German traffic jams where everyone waits their turn and stays in lane…
